Visible Image Wednesday

Hi Folks

How is your week going then my lovelies? well I hope ?

I have another fab new set of stamps to show off from the new launch with Visible Image's brilliant and innovative stamps.
Thank you for all your kind messages on the last few posts wow it is so nice to hear your thoughts and know what you are up to too.

I hope you enjoy today's card so without further ado.

Here is today's card.

I wanted to show off the gorgeous new sentiment with a pretty but not overly coloured background so I cut three strips of blue card and used black ink to initially stamp the flower from the Thank you more than words set.
I added those to some cream card to give them a small mat all around and added foam to the back of that, I cut another large piece of blue card to fit the three pieces just made on to and added that to a matching cream mat too.
I also added foam to the back of that piece and gave it another mat of cream, so it has that double mat look to finish it.

Here is a close up from the side  it shows off the lovely flower head very well here

I took another piece of cream card and stamped the Never give up sentiment which is such a powerful set of words isn't it?  especially for anyone feeling a little down.
I mounted that on to some blue card  too.
Adding more foam to the back of that piece I added it to the card front too.I added some sparkles in the corners and some little cherry blossom flowers in blue to each corner of the sentiment with some extra leaves to finish it off.

Quite a simple card this one and is more about the positioning of the pieces and of course that fabulous sentiment more than anything. But still pretty clean looking although not quite clean and simple it has that effect.
Over the week coming I will show off a few more cards from the launch so do come on over and check them out too.

Here is the completed card again from the long view I hope you like it.

The stamps used for this one were.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and I hope the sun is shining where you are too.

Huge hugs from me to you

Visible Image fantastic new Release day.

Good Evening all

Well today I have an extra post for the fabulous Visible Image as they have a huge new launch day with new characters and lots of new sentiments and really thought provoking phrases that are just not covered by any other team. I just love the individualism and combination of a fabulous artist/creator and an ingenious Poet and wordsmith /media specialist in fact Helen and Mark are the opitomy of jack and Jill of all trades and I am sure they won't mind me sharing that with you all.

To See all the brilliant teams work on this new launch and catch up on The Visible Image blog pop over after you finished reading here and have a look through the blog to keep up with all the news etc.

In the meantime I created a Mixed media canvas which I would like to share with you all and I hope you love it as much as I do.

I realise it is quite hard to pick up on the shabby chic sort of colourway but it is actually pale pinks chalky whites brown and gold in all the recesses I used the stamping on 1 ply of tissue to get the image transferred to the canvas method for this one coating it in PVA glue to hold it on to the surface and over the entire thing to protect it. It will wrinkle and bubble but that's ok just leave it be to dry as it flattens itself out as it does.
I prepped my canvas then by adding a thick layer very roughly of texture Crackle paste around the sentiment in a frame shape, I heat dried it til it cracked then I added some hessian in places and also some cheese cloth and I dried that layer. I then took a stencil and ran some Grunge paste through the shapes which were splots dots , stripe , zigzag in a grungy pattern in random areas. dried again then began adding all the goodies.
After I had done that I started adding all my items to the canvas and here is a picture of all the items attached before all the colouring started.

You can see all the items in their original colours and what they all are here with mixes of gold and silver , green and turquoise flowers and how I built up the winged dragonfly in the bottom right corner.
I covered the whole thing accept of course the main show in the centre which I shielded with card cut to size. To start I covered everything in Gesso in fact I did a few coats not only for opaque coverage but also for texture as some place I stippled the medium on rather than painting it will smooth brushstrokes.

After the gesso I went  in with a vintage chalk acyclic paint in a pinky/lilac cool tone and covered everything then added several spritzes of colours in browns/golds/mauve's to the mix and dried in between each coat with a heat gun.

Here is that same corner finished with all its glitter.

I did not do a complete tutorial of every step as a piece like this is done in several steps and can be rushed but I  am a perfectionist it seems lol, but if you would like one please just let me know in the
comments. I strongly advise a hot glue gun though for a piece like this as it will take longer having to wait for every part to set.

Here is the top right corner , I had some chipboard frames that were oval so I cut a piece of the frame and added that to the canvas then I found a little plastic cameo button , very ugly and cheapy looking lol so I made her beautiful with an old stone like texture.
I really just keep adding til I have a balance to the canvas and so it looks complete without being  over the top.( some may say it is if you like the minimal look but I do enjoy this style and you get to use up small left overs and such like.

Here is the finished piece again and I truly hope you will have a go or we can do a series on how too or some thing like it.
The stamp I used for this one

I absolutely love it.

anyway I hope you will go look at all the hard work put in by all for this launch and the amazing goodies made by a fab team.

Oh and itssss FFFFFRRRRRRRIIIDayyyyyyyy whooopppppieeee

love to all as always from my house to yours.

Hugs

Creative Expressions Thursday

Hi Folks

I have been having another play with this months goodies from Creative Expressions including the gorgeous decoupage papers , I decided to make a card with  them this week and I hope you like it.

Something a little different for me, very simple but neat and quite elegant I think.

I took a piece of blush card and covered it with the decoupage Rose papers, I then added three layers of seam binding to the top third of the card I mounted that onto another piece of card this time I used Milk.
I made a double mat with a pierced edge in blush card.and raised it to a 5mm height in between with foam.
I added the first decoupaged piece onto the pierced mat.
Next I stamped a Creative Expressions sentiment onto more blush card and I nipped out the corners with a corner rounderI then added thick foam to the back and layered it with another piece of blush card.

I added a very thin sticky tape to each of the four sides and covered each in diamond sprinkles glitter and burnished it into the tape before tipping off the excess.I added some 8MM  pearls to the corners.
I took another piece of card , but this time much thinner and cut out a spiral by hand.

I rolled up the spiral and glued it to the bottom piece and rolled back some if the top edges..
I inked the edges with tattered rose Distress ink and added some leaves to the back to complete my rose for the centre of my seam binding bow. Lastly I added some stickles around the edges just here and there for  a little sparkle.

I tied a seam binding bow for the corner and added some pieces of left over pearl strings in white . My last thing was to add some 5mm flat back pearls to the corner and that finished it off nicely.

Here is the finished card again.

Very feminine this one, unless you know a fella that grows special roses etc otherwise this is for a special friend I think.

I hope you like it and enjoyed having a read through, you can also use a napkin for this technique if you see one you love the pattern on.

Have  a great Thursday and lots of love

Visible Image Wednesday-good times.

Hello my lovlies

Well look at that sunshine we have been treated too recently, isn't it so nice to leave work and there still be light and warmth too....

How are you all this week ? what have you been making?

I have been doing lots of crafting all over the weekend toward the fabulous new launch for Friday for our lovely Visible Image , amazingly gorgeous new stamps coming out on the 12th ad I am sooo looking forward to all the fun.

Today I wanted to make something that reflected the bright Sky and happy feel of summer so here is my this weeks card for Visible Image DT.

It has some real fiery colours used on this one, the new abandoned Coral and wild honey with  a tiny touch of black soot around the edges to bring your eye in, I am using the background as a feature for this one rather than a huge focal point so I have tried to keep it really bright and with lots to look at coming through in the background.
So as usual I have a full tutorial for you all to have a go at and I hope you play along and I still would love to see your work and have a publish day for you if you would like to share any work with our little blog family here. Just let me know if you would like to email anything over so I can add it to a blog post , You will need a fairly clear picture to show off your work though so come on gals get inky hehe.
Right on to this little bright number ,

First I took the swirly stamp from the plasma set of stamps and inked him up  ( why is my stamp now a he hmmm I don't know why suddenly I have began an anthropomorphic phase with my stamps lol ...I used Versafine in black and stamped Mr Plasma all over a piece of cream card ( I know it looks white but it really is more cream in the flesh as it were.)

My Usual colouring in technique with the first distress ink which is a new colour out this year called abandoned Coral and this is what the first layer looks like, this is where it can be as patchy and all over and don't give up it will come right the more inky layers you do the more it blends  Just like eye make up, the more light layers and blend in between the longer it lasts.

Here's the second colour mixing with the last shade to form a real tutti frooti like goodness. the second colour of course is wild honey and where the two colours meet you get a real nice blend and an orangey glow.

After a few coats of colour I did my usual tone on tone using the same stamp I stamped some coral plasma balls in the Coral parts and honey in the honey sections, etc.

Next I used the other stamp in this Plasma set and used some white Embossing powder with perfect medium sticky ink but first i dried the background thoroughly and rubbed over with an anti static bag and got it all very coated so none of the white embossing powder would stick to the ink on the card.

I spritzed a few blobs of water here and there gave it a few seconds then dabbed the ink away from the card to leave a few light patches for bubbles etc. I also gave the card front a good coating in the tattered angels glimmer mist, this colour is a pink shade shot through with goldy/bronze Mica to add a real sheen to the card.Very pretty.

I tried very hard to turn the card in the light to pick up the gold but you cant see the gorgeous sheen and stunning colour it is  in person really, just faintly.

I took some black soot distress ink and added it to the  edges of the card, to draw your eye in to the centre where we did all the  work on colours etc and blending I stamped no regrets which I embossed in shiny black embossing powder , here is a close up.

I used my black versafine and very quickly added the embossing powder too it before the archival ink started to dry.
I added a couple of mats just in simple black and white to give it a finished look as always.

Next I stamped out the good times sentiment on white card in black ink. but then I cut them all apart and matted them on black card too.
I raised each one on a piece of foam to have them sitting a little proud on the backing.

I really wanted some sparkle on here, just a small amount but something really sparkly and I recently got some crushed glass glitter to try out and wow .... it is soooo sparkly it is crazy and even the camera picks it up a little.

I used this diamond dust just on the bottom two corners over glossy accents , just random dots all over the corner and the dust sprinkle on patted down and excess tipped back in pot.
My goodness I love this stuff.

Here is the close up of the left corner and below is the right and you can actually see even in these camera pics that there is a lot of clear sparkle , it truly is very pretty.

 Right corner too.
And here are a couple more finished images of this weeks completed card. Lots of steps but not a complicated card with blending practise and inky layering goodness and lots of fun.

So the stamps I used from Our amazing Visible Image are listed here with pics too.

       Plasma set.

I hope you are all having a good week , can you believe it is Wednesday again already.. I know I say it every week but it seems to have gone extra extra fast this week lol.

Ok my lovlies Don't forget to come back tomorrow for another post and then back again this Friday for the new launch for Visible image goodies so lots of posts this week and more chance to catch up with you all.
Huge hugs from my crafty house to yours

Creative Expressions Thursday.

Hi Folks

Happy Thursday..
Today I have a little tag for you and something different as we have entered a new Month therefore new goodies on the Design team, things are a little different from now as we have been split into two teams a die cutting team and a stamping team for the weekly inspirations , I am on the stamping team however I have been sent some of the new decoupage papers line Creative Expressions now carry, This one is called English rose, I also have some of the Mat chalk paints in Azure Mist and Coral Glow so I played with those for a bit and this is the result.

it is so hard to photograph glitter an muted tones but in real life this is so pretty and sparkly in shades of pale green and coral/pink.
I started with a plain tag shaped wooden shape.
I covered it in decoupage paper using cosmic shimmer glue
After sanding back the edges I added some mat chalk paint in Coral glow to them .

next i added a few streaks here and there of Azure mist without covering the roses on the pattern too much,
I added some Walnut stain Distress ink to the edges too

I wanted to use one of the large cameo flowers from CE on the tag so Using the same paints and some wax and later some glue and glitter I changed it to

This...., simply by covering the whole thing in Azure mist and drying then adding coral glow to the flowers and drying then rubbing some wax over. Later a few patches of glue inside the flowers and glitter gives it a nice sparkle too for the top right of the tag.
I used the same tissue paper from the decoupage pack and cuta couple of spiral shapes out and rolled them up pushing back the edges ad gluing a couple of leaves which I muted with the same paints a little  I also wrapped the wires around my pokey tool to give some little spring like spirals for added interest to the couple of flowers I made.I also added a little ink to the edges too and some glitter for sparkle.

I took a piece of couture creations Rose garden pad and cut a piece distressed the edges and stitched them, then add it to the back of the tag on the left side, I also added glue to the bottom right of the tag and covered it in Antique gold Mica flakes, i also dotted in some large glitter pieces in places

It is soooo glittery and pretty.I thought a close up was in order, haha.

I added a key on top of the glitter, a little wooden clock behind the flowers I also added a small piece of frayed hessian with the cameo on top top right A small wooden flower with 8mm pearl to centre on the top left., I decided to use one more item which is a white satin flower,  I cut the middle out, folded it in half a added a few streaks of Coral  glow  to the petals I glued it together and them added it to the tag under the roses and added the pearl bead back to the bottom of it.
I cut several pieces of cream seam binding in half length ways and frayed it a little and added a string of small pearls to use all as the hanger at the top and wrapped a few pearls around them at the knot too. Lastly I added some more glitter and the hands on the clock with a small pearl and a few more painted and glittered leaves and it was complete.

Here is a few more pictures.

hanging against the wall, however wall is cream so doesn't show as vibrant as it is.

Anyway it was something a little different this week and I hope you enjoyed it all.
Lots of love to all.
