Visible Image Wednesday

Helo everyone.

Nice to be here with you, Hasn't the weather been so gorgeous the last few days?

I know you will all join me in wishing Helen and Mark the owners and Creators of Visible Image a wonderful and huge CONGRATULATIONS as they got married this last week, they are very  happy and a couple who I am proud to call friends. So all the luck and love in the world for them and their future.

So I was playing with my stamps and I remember the gorgeous lips in the bite me set so I decided to have some nice bright lips on a grey background, electric blue lips would look so good here too but I chose to go for red and glittery.

So here is today's card ....

And of course me being me I added some vampy fangs in there haha..

I really do love backgrounds like this which I created with just a few greys and a black soot blended edging. You can do this with almost any colour tone on tone to make it have the same sort of effect and then just one pop of colour makes the picture really stand out.

So If you like this card just keep watching to see how to do it...

To start I took a piece of white card and used some grey flannel momento ink and stamped with the Bronte script stamp which everyone knows is one of my absolute favourites, no need to cover the centre as we will be covering that up.

Next I used the same grey ink and a piece of cut and dry to bend in the edges a litte along with a little weathered wood and some London fog ink from momento too. I did go back and add a tiny bit of the black much stronger around the very edge as it really make it a stand out. I set this piece aside for now.

On a smaller piece of card in red momento dew drop ink I stamped the lips and using several distress pens and a black pen and a white gel pen I added all the shade and highlights from the lips.. I drew around the edge of the lips in grey to make them stand forward and added some fangs on the edge of teeth.

I took some white glue that dries clear and added some glass glitter with shards of glass very finely cut but so very sparkly just on the lips no where else. I also matted that piece on to a thin black mat of card.

The backing piece was also matted onto black card and I added the words that came with the lips which was simply "Bite Me lol".  I used back archival ink for that and got a nice dark image.

I gave the whole back piece a mat and layer in black and white with a little foam under to raise the centre up just sightly, then I was ready for the centre to be added to the card with thicker foam.

To finish it all off I simple added the dot to the I with a square gem some tiny hand cuffs that dangle so cute plus a couple of locks and a key and lastly some shiny stones in the corner.

Here are some other images of the now finished card, the time that took the most i used to get the lips shaded perfectly with several different distress ink pens.

I chose this angle so you could see me how the little items help play a part in the role of this card and how embellishments can help really theme a card.

So the stamps from the amazing Visible Image used on this card are shown here.

Well folks as you can see the incident with the mushy peas exorcist moment last week has dried out and the laptop is still hanging in there although I have to press the L very hard I think it may have a bit of pea under it still lol errrkkk I know I know. But leas it is working and that is the main thing for now.
If anyone wants to get anything from Visible image please remember that they are on honeymoon and so wont be back to resume orders until the 24th so orders will be a tiny bit delayed but look what you have to look forward to when at the end of the month yayayay.... I know I have a huge list of items I still would like.

lots of love for today my friends

Visible Image Wednesday.

Hello folks

How are you all? I hope everyone is doing ok and enjoying a Little sunshine and warmth. I am glad to be back last week blogger just would not let me upload anything which was very frustrating but after couple days of probs it seems ok again now.
I managed to hurt my back this week , unsure how exactly but the chair I sit at at my desk at work has steadily made it worse all week. I do not suffer from back issues generally apart from the odd aches from having big old boobies ( over share?  lol too much  I think so lol oh well)
but this has been horrible in that every time I move even slightly it sends a spasm in the mid section of my back  not even the lumbar section where I'd expect it to ache if I had over reached or picked up something too heavy so who knows exactly what happened but it has been a long week,
However, now it is starting to slowly feel less painful I can see the funny side of me trying a different chair from around the office each day and using a cushion one day and trying a backrest etc but seriously you lovlies that have back issues I feel that I have a greater understanding of what you go through now too  my husband had a chronic back issue as does my son so I really feel like, not that I know what you are all going through cos in no way can this compare but that I have empathy for those who suffer as it is very debilitating as this week I felt like even with this I could not do my usual things and routines that we all do without my back twitching and hurting. Anyway enough chit chat haha
I have another card from the fab Visible Image's new launch of stamps last week  and I really hope you like it.

I went for the clean look again on this one. Well ish... for me anyway haha But I love the spring out with the old, fresh start vibe to this one.

I started with a square of white card and black archival ink. I stamped the Bronte Border stamp several times in ascending order on the left side .

I then initially stamped my flower head and blotted a lot of the ink off the flower stamp and went around the edge of the flower head again using just the tips of the flower very pale just enough to cast this shadow effect.

The fabulous sentiment from the new launch , so crisp and clean  stamps like a dream some polymer stamps can be too squishy I know you know what I mean haha so that if you press too hard the image blurs and does not look clean anymore, never so with Visible Image. They are an absolutely spot on image.

So using the flower head still I used grey inks and black and the tips of the flower to create this 2nd and 3rd generation stamping border which has the impression of movement on the card.

For a little added interest on the left side I decided to take a small piece of the same white card and stamp the matching part of the border all over it, I mounted that onto a small piece of the same blue card with just a tiny border  I added a little white velvet bow and foam on the back to raise this piece up from the card but as I used the matching piece of the writing you can hardly tell it is there until you zoom in

Here again is the finished image, I was really pleased how this one turned out although is is pretty clean there is actually a lot of stamping gone into this and I just love these techniques.

The stamps I used on this one were.

Time to be happy

Bronte script

Thank you flower set

I hope you managed to see all the fabulous new sentiment and phrase stamps launched recently from Mark and Helen with Visible Image, they are just adorable and I cant wait to get my hands on all of them  There simply is something for everyone and every occasion. Take a look if you haven't seen them yet here on the new launch page.

Ok friends I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and I look forward to catching up with you all later today.

Huge Crafty Hugs

Visible Image Wednesday

Hi and good Morning my friends

I hope you are all having a great week I find myself wishing it was Friday already haha (at least it is a short week yay.
How is everyone?let me know how your bank Holiday weekend went and what you go up to below, I managed to get the last couple of posts comments answered again and I will be trying my best to get this weeks done too so if you get chance I have answered your comments so feel free to stop by  and catch up.
Today I have a card using the fab Visible Image stamps and I did some second gen stamping too, I love the result, it came out Looking vintage and Masculine just what I was looking for
I hope you like it too.

I raided my stash of old watch parts etc to get the tiny weeny little cogs that are spilling out from under the car picture haha. I look for things I can use all the time now whatever shop I am in I manage to be thinking whether or not something will work in my crafting ( I bet you are all the same ?) haha..

Ok so here we go on today's tutorial for this card entitled Remember good times.

So I started by using my old Tuxedo black Momento ink pad so that I could use alcohol markers on it too, I purposely took the ink that is drying out so it left this mottled light image so that following in with colour will mean it wills how through.

I wanted to use the technique our Sue calls Out of the box , I first saw it done on the Heartfelt creations website many moons ago and it is where you mark out the area you want to look like it is coming out of the die frame and you tuck the die under that gap as in the next picture

Here you can see the little square die I used and tucked it under the front of the car which I fussy cut by hand so it would be able to lay just on top of the die, therefore not getting cut as it passes through the die cutter

Once it is cut out and while the frame is still in place I took my time and with a light hand used my Antique Linen Distress ink to add to the outside of the frame.

I choose some reds in my promarkers to go with the ink I have been using, I used Poppy, red and cardinal red to add depth to the car colour.

This is the first layer and how bad it looks at this stage, I used the lighter reds and some white gelly roll pen and also a little of the gold stardust pen by sakura , don't give up, start to build on the colours you have already added.

This is the next layer and it is definitely starting to get a sheen on the high points and the darker areas are starting to look receded how we would expect too . I added another layer and set aside.

I took  that same square die and cut out a frame from a piece of card stock and then simply cut it to look a bit like a Polaroid picture . I inked all the edges with the same distress ink too.

I took the Good times stamp from the loving 'No regrets' sentiment set and used Versafine black ink and embossed it quickly with clear embossing on the bottom part of this frame.

I gave that a black mat to sit on also. I set this section aside as now we need to make the base for this piece and the car to sit upon.

I used some Momento grey flannel ink and did the 2nd generation stamping at this stage too. So I kept a spare piece of card next to me and every time I inked my stamp I blotted 1 impression onto scrap paper first then went in and stamped the Vintage car and the Tyre marks and Bronte border script stamp too, just randomly over the areas that will be seen a little. I took a cool Grey promarker in number 2 and drew around the car and one side of the tyre marks and also randomly under darker areas of script, Casting little shadows like this really helps to lift things off the paper and stops them looking like a flat drawing.

I also added some of that random script adding to the top and sides of the little Polaroid shape and some grey and blue using promarkers

I added some mats to the layers on this base portion of the card using black and red with the last layer being cream and then I started building the card together with all the elements we made along the way.

Here are some of the elements I added , I love using metal onto t he card and these gears etc are just perfect.
So that's it so here is the finished card again.

I hope you enjoyed making this one with me  and doing the step by steps too.

Here are the stamps I used from Visible Image for this card.

I hope you like this masculine card for today and enjoyed putting it all together. leave me your comments and thoughts as always and I hope you are all well and enjoyed the bank holiday.
Have a brilliant Wednesday and I look forward to reading your comments later.
Here are a few extra photos.

You can see all the embellishments better in this one and the way I use grey and blue to add shadows even to the side and bottom of the central section.

The car looks 3d in this image doesn't it, like its going to drive away haha.

I added some glaze to the gar and sparkly wheels and here is me, turning it in the light so you Can see just how sparkly and shiny it is.

see you all tomorrow

Huge hugs

Visible Image Sunday

Good morning all.

Hope you are all having a good weekend and you aren't affected by the floods or snow, Oh gosh I hate this time of year when people have such a hard time. I hope none of you are affected too badly and you are still able to get about. I am quite passionate about looking out for the elderly in your area so if you know of someone living alone who may need some help with a hot meal or a hot blanket do check in , I know we are all naturally like this us crafters for some reason we all love our pets and families and are nurturers aren't we.  Better to be over cautious than not cautious at all I think.
Anyway back to today's gorgeous stamps , I consider myself very lucky to be given Visible Image stamps, they are such good quality and extremely deeply etched so give an amazing print every time.

This month sees the start of a new challenge over on The Visible Image blog and the theme of course is loooooooooooove. hehe..So back into the room of stash I went and created this pretty little number for inspiration .I've done my usual step by step photos so here is this little cards story.

I wanted to try to create a card with just a few ingredients so I used 2 of the gorgeous Visible Image stamps.card.wooden heart, ribbon, embossing powder, bella rose die cut swirl(leaves cut off).1 Dazzler.A few white and clear embellies. That's about it other than foam and glue.

Here's the step by step.

I started with some red card from Creative expressions, some versamark embossing ink and The Bronte border script stamp from Visible image which I love. I stamped all around the edges , no overlapping this time girls.

Next I tipped on the True White embossing powder and heat set it on to the red card.
I had some wooden hearts , quite large in my stash from Hobbycraft I believe so i used my Fired Brick distress Ink from Lord holtz and pushed the heart into it until it was stained, then I applied lots of heat to dry it and lighten it slightly.

Once it was dry I used the versamark again and stamped The Bronte border onto the heart and again used the white embossing powder, I used it all around the edges too. Once set I used a quickie glue pen all around the edges and made it sparkle like crazy, it so hard to pick up sparkle on camera but the surface looks like a fruit pastelle (only way I can describe it, relate it to a sweetie haha)
So then I set about matting the red onto black then coconut white card. then I raised it onto foam and matted onto a couple of layers one pierced of more coconut white. I don't follow any set pattern here oh how you layer just don't raise every layer on foam or leave every layer flat and it works out .

You can see the ribbon was wrapped around the first two layers then raised on foam, then the next two were glued and more foam then the last 2 layers had very think foam between just to raise the pierced layer to show the tiny wholes.

This is blurred slightly as it focused in on the little stone for some reason but you can see more of the sparkle on the wooden heart and a little gilding wax too.

Here is the feature stamp, Live,Laugh, Love by Helen and Mark over at Visible Image based in Wales and I just love them. I stamped that once only and it just came out perfect. |I used versafine detail archival ink and used a little fired brick to blend in the edges, we don't want to see any white edges glaring at us lol then matted onto red and black, I used a deep foam to raise it up and added my heart on the right.
Here's my lovely bow tied with Red Creative Expressions crinkle edge Ribbon, I added the bella swirl die cut from  Heartfelt creations with the leaves removed to go around the bow and a black dazzler for the centre to cover our knot.
Voila a love themed card for Visible Image.

So now if you are lucky enough to own any of their stamps why don't you make a little something and enter into the challenge , the rules are really simple, no digi stamps and your item must contain at least one Visible Image stamp, the winner is chosen at the end of the month and you win £20 to spend on any set or sets of stamps you like from The Visible Image online shop and there are some gorgeous stamps there, I love them all. and soooo reasonable too.
I used.
                                 Bronte Border                                      Live Laugh Love
They are both such useful stamps and I know I will use them over and over.

I wanted to again thank you all for your kind words yesterday when answering my question about the free card giveaways. You were all concerned for me and I think it was very lovely of you all. I am not sure I will do weekly just yet but I have plenty to give away so we will see how it goes and get that up and running.
Now don't forget to go enter your cards in the challenges and I'd love to see one of my ladies win it, I'd be like a proud mother hen. I felt exactly like that when you all sent in your emails to the shows haha.
Right have a great Sunday and I will will speak to you all later I am sure.

Hugs
