Hope you are all having a good weekend and you aren't affected by the floods or snow, Oh gosh I hate this time of year when people have such a hard time. I hope none of you are affected too badly and you are still able to get about. I am quite passionate about looking out for the elderly in your area so if you know of someone living alone who may need some help with a hot meal or a hot blanket do check in , I know we are all naturally like this us crafters for some reason we all love our pets and families and are nurturers aren't we. Better to be over cautious than not cautious at all I think.
Anyway back to today's gorgeous stamps , I consider myself very lucky to be given Visible Image stamps, they are such good quality and extremely deeply etched so give an amazing print every time.
This month sees the start of a new challenge over on The Visible Image blog and the theme of course is loooooooooooove. hehe..So back into the room of stash I went and created this pretty little number for inspiration .I've done my usual step by step photos so here is this little cards story.
I wanted to try to create a card with just a few ingredients so I used 2 of the gorgeous Visible Image stamps.card.wooden heart, ribbon, embossing powder, bella rose die cut swirl(leaves cut off).1 Dazzler.A few white and clear embellies. That's about it other than foam and glue.
Here's the step by step.
I started with some red card from Creative expressions, some versamark embossing ink and The Bronte border script stamp from Visible image which I love. I stamped all around the edges , no overlapping this time girls.
Next I tipped on the True White embossing powder and heat set it on to the red card.
I had some wooden hearts , quite large in my stash from Hobbycraft I believe so i used my Fired Brick distress Ink from Lord holtz and pushed the heart into it until it was stained, then I applied lots of heat to dry it and lighten it slightly.
Once it was dry I used the versamark again and stamped The Bronte border onto the heart and again used the white embossing powder, I used it all around the edges too. Once set I used a quickie glue pen all around the edges and made it sparkle like crazy, it so hard to pick up sparkle on camera but the surface looks like a fruit pastelle (only way I can describe it, relate it to a sweetie haha)
So then I set about matting the red onto black then coconut white card. then I raised it onto foam and matted onto a couple of layers one pierced of more coconut white. I don't follow any set pattern here oh how you layer just don't raise every layer on foam or leave every layer flat and it works out .
You can see the ribbon was wrapped around the first two layers then raised on foam, then the next two were glued and more foam then the last 2 layers had very think foam between just to raise the pierced layer to show the tiny wholes.
This is blurred slightly as it focused in on the little stone for some reason but you can see more of the sparkle on the wooden heart and a little gilding wax too.
Here's my lovely bow tied with Red Creative Expressions crinkle edge Ribbon, I added the bella swirl die cut from Heartfelt creations with the leaves removed to go around the bow and a black dazzler for the centre to cover our knot.
Voila a love themed card for Visible Image.
So now if you are lucky enough to own any of their stamps why don't you make a little something and enter into the challenge , the rules are really simple, no digi stamps and your item must contain at least one Visible Image stamp, the winner is chosen at the end of the month and you win £20 to spend on any set or sets of stamps you like from The Visible Image online shop and there are some gorgeous stamps there, I love them all. and soooo reasonable too.
I used.
Bronte Border Live Laugh Love
They are both such useful stamps and I know I will use them over and over.
I wanted to again thank you all for your kind words yesterday when answering my question about the free card giveaways. You were all concerned for me and I think it was very lovely of you all. I am not sure I will do weekly just yet but I have plenty to give away so we will see how it goes and get that up and running.
Now don't forget to go enter your cards in the challenges and I'd love to see one of my ladies win it, I'd be like a proud mother hen. I felt exactly like that when you all sent in your emails to the shows haha.
Right have a great Sunday and I will will speak to you all later I am sure.
Hugs

Hi Pat. I am so glad you are enjoying these stamps. Harley the Jester is brand new too. He is rather cute. Thanks Pat xx
DeleteMorning Kim,
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely card & quite a simple one if anybody wanted to recreate it. Love the colours & think it would be great for either sex. I have a little question to ask, when you were on C&C I noticed you used really large foam squares on a roll can I be cheeky & ask where you got them from. As I have some visible image stamps I may have a go at the challenge, if I do I'll let you know.
Sue x
Hi Sue
DeleteI do some of the simpler ones because of new starters it is fair to mix them in in case people are just starting. I emailed you re the pads but I just got my foam of ebay in bulk but you can get most lengths or large pads most places now. Id love one of my ladies to enter the challenge but please dont feel under any pressure to do it. Theres one evvery month but it is worth the winning prize i think.
Kim xx
Hi Kim, A gorgeous card, love the colours, red and black are always 'romantic' and sometimes 'saucy', but mixed with white it tends to 'lighten' the feeling of the colours and takes them to another level. Stunning. I love the script stamp and the sentiment is gorgeous and should be abided by at all times haha.
ReplyDeleteSue, above, has asked the exact same question that I was going to ask, I noticed that you had a big sheet of 'large' foam pads that you were using on tv, and I too was going to ask what were they, please.
We have got sun here today, and at Church our Vicar was quick to tell us that if it was nice today we were in for some bad weather ahead, but if it was horrid weather today, then we were over the worst, we all started groaning haha, we don't want anymore bad weather, do we !!
Have a lovely day, I am back off to Church for a Remembrance Service for a fellow parishioner in half an hour, just waiting for my hubby to come home from his Steam Railway Swapmeet in Bolton.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Patricia.
DeleteHope the remembrance service went well. Glad you liked todays card. Again I got my foam online it comes in all sizes and thickness in strips of pages or lengths but I just ordered mine in blulk from ebay so its just a case of looking on there, But most place sell the big ones now. The trouble with mine is they are extremely unforgiving, when they on they on so some glue on them helps to have a little slip but they are very strong.
Hugs Kim xxx
Hi Kim
ReplyDeleteThis card is definitely a winner, love your script background and the sentiment and the swirls around your bow!! Afraid I don't have any visible image stamps but good luck to Anyone entering the competition
Best wishes Pat
Hi Pat. The Bronte script is one of my favourites and I use it all the time.Hope you had a good weekend. Hugs Kim xx
DeleteThis is just gorgeous Kim, I love red white and black together, and with the swirls, ribbon, and the black button, and all the great matting and layering, gives the perfect finished result. x
ReplyDeleteHi Pat. Thank you so much for all your lovely words, I really appreciate them.Big hug
