Well it has been raining and windy, hands up who has had this nasty wind( not personally you understand lol ) it reminds me of that storm we had in 1987 anyone remember it? Trees were blowing over and landing on cars etc, crazy time that was , I was just about to find out I was carrying my son that year. What was you all doing?
I have a lovely Visible Image step by step for you to have a go out , a little recap with a bit extra on all we have been learning with the random inking since you all first met me
I used some really gorgeous and special stamps today and I hope you will agree it turned out pretty cool.
Take a look .
Ok so here we go.
Here is how mine looked after slapping the ink on (technical term) lol
Next remember how we did the same ink in the same colour zones just as we did on the first show, I used the gorgeous Grunge flourish , first I used the back of it around the edge of the card purple in purple and green in green.
Make sure you dry this layer properly with a heat gun and use an anti static pad to as it will stop the embossing powders from clinging to the other inks .I now switch to an archival ink so it gives me a nice crisp images and I am now using the simply divine Music background.
Once I stamped the music background twice in opposite corners I took the large butterfly and again kept the tones in the same colour zones so I didn't muddy the colours and stamped a few on the pageHere you can see the layers starting to build up and its already starting to look pretty don't you think?
On the last show I showed you how to colour your butterflies really quickly and no fussing, the simple way is to stamp them all how you want them and then while they are still on the paper just rub some colour into them how you want it, Once I did this I added some white dots and coloured in white some pieces to give a little more depth to them, \if you are wondering about the last butterfly in this picture,I took the butterfly stamp and inked it well with the Versafine , I then pressed the music background onto the inked butterfly which of course removed some ink and I stamped that image which is top right and then I took the music background and stamped out the image left there too which is the bottom right image. This is called Kiss stamping and usually used on more solid stamps like silhouettes but why not try it on any and see how it goes.
At this stage cut all your butterflies out, you can see the difference the white pen makes to the butterflies already. Once cut out take a sheet of double sided adhesive and then dip each one in whatever medium you prefer, glitter, mica flakes, Micro beads etc and set aside for a minute to dry etc.Go back to the original piece and take your glue pen and dot it wherever you feel you want the glitter etc.
I used some Frantage aged white powder on top of 2 of the corners where I used the music background too.
Next i stamped out on coconut white card the live your dreams stamp, you can just see it on the left if you look carefully, I heat embossed it with clear detail powder and versamark ink.
Then blended the same colours to create my focal piece for the card. I also stamped randomly the music
I matted and layered a couple of times and added my butterflies , which are super sparkly but the cameras just can 't pick it up well at all.
It definitely was a long project but very worth it I hope you will agree.
The gorgeous stamps used in this project are.
live your dreams Grunge flourish
Now the lady that won all the goodies on here just over a week ago never came forward so I still have that bundle of goodies to give away. There fore anyone who leaves a comment today will go into a 2nd drawing and that prize will then be sent out to them.
Here's that prize again as a recap.

Hi Kim. Beautiful card in lovely colours. Thank you for the tutorial.I must give it a go. The storm in 1987 was the first time I had ever worried about the wind. When we woke up in the morning, all having slept through the storm, a massive Oak tree in the garden of the house behind us had fallen down onto the owners lawn (not causing any other damage) If it had blown the other way it would have landed right on top of our house, including the bedroom where our 5 month old first born son was sleeping :( It still makes me shiver all these years later! (Such a shame that such a beautiful tree that was 100's of years old was lost that night though) Always a bit edgy when it gets windy at night now! Have a good day. Stay safe. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs B. nice to see you and thanks for being here. I hope you will give it a go sometime. Thank goodness that tree didn't come your way , someone was looking after your lad that night.bless him.I don't like the wind particularly on the motorway.
DeleteDefinitey be careful in this weather for sure.
Hugs
Kim xx
Morning Kim, Unfortunately 1987 was not a good year for me, I lost my eldest Son in March of that year, but yes I do remember the horrid gales we had, I have always been afraid of the strong wind, I am only little and don't weigh that much, and I always have a fear of being blown away, and that year the gales were so strong it was hard to keep upright. Anyway enough of being maudlin haha.
ReplyDeleteYour card is magnificent, I love the colours, purple and green have always been a favourite combo of mine, I love the butterflies and loved how you demo'd this technique on tv, and the 'kiss' stamping looks fabulous with the music stamp. I spied the frantage on the corners, I so love using that. It annoys me that every time I type frantage, the computer always thinks I wanted 'frontage' and changes it, then I have to go back and say 'No' I wanted 'frantage' and change the 'o' to an 'a' haha., it's always a grrrrr moment.
This card is stunning, and yippeeeeeee we are all in the cup for the prize goodies. Good Luck everyone.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Patricia.
DeleteI am so so sorry for raising the memories of that awful year for you. Bless your heart , I am no stranger to loss but your first born son or any child i cannot begin to feel your pain. Big hug and know It is from my heart when I give you my condolences for it does not matter how long ago it was, when you discuss it it becomes like an open wound again.
Thank you for still finding all them ovely words regarding the card, I did enjoy putting it together I also love purple and green, I do think we have very similar taste you and I.
Love to you
Kim xxx
Awww, thank you for those kind words, Kim. I finished Graham's birthday card yesterday, with the Visible Image car and the 'Classic' sentiment, and it has turned out fantastic, I eventually managed to get the piccie from my phone emailed to myself, thank you for your help, I now need to try getting them from my camera !! haha.
DeleteLots of love from Patricia xx
Yup if you find the lead to plug the camera in i will help, are u using windowss or a apple mac machine?glad you got the emailed one, its quick that way. did you save it from your email into a file so you have it on the computer? x
DeleteYes,, Kim, I saved it so now have it on my computer, yeah !!!! When I get the lead, Graham knows where that is, I will let you know then you can 'walk me through it' when you have the time, thank you. xx
DeleteSorry, forgot, I use Windows xx
DeleteHi Julia
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card today. your using my favourite colour. I love how you are giving us tutorials, and must try the kiss technique. 1987 was a nightmare with the wind and the floods, mind you we are having floods now. We are a bit higher up so if we were flooded Witney would be in great trouble. The water just pours off the fields and was going straight through peoples houses. Thanks for the chance to win the prize, It looks fantastic.
Hi Pat.
DeleteThink you may have meant to say Kim not Julia haha
The front of my house is similar as it is green straight outside my front door and it slope toward my house so it gets very wet and muddy in this rain, but nothing like all th epoor people suffering just now. Bless them all.
Big hug
Kim xx
Hi Kim, love today's card, the colours are perfect, and I adore the music stamp.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tutorial and the chance to win.
I can remember 1987 and laying in bed listening to the roof tiles falling, but I think we got off lightly compared to all the poor people who are suffering at the moment.
My heart goes out to them all, and hope it won't be too much longer before they can return to their homes
xx
Hi Debbie
DeleteI am so pleased you are all loving todays card. I feel the same to all the people suffering, I wish i lived near to make them all food or let them stay etc. heart breaks when you thik of them cold etc.
hugs
Kim xx
Definitely worth it, Kim. It's a beautiful card and I love your colour choices x

ReplyDeleteWow! a really stunning card Kim...love it! Thank you for the detailed steps and techniques. I love the colours that you've used and the stamps. 1987 was very scary with the high winds.
ReplyDeleteHi Beryl.
DeleteThankyou so much and you are very welcome for the step by steps , keep a look out for videos as soon as my tripod arrives haha.
It was a scary year for sure.
Thanks for being here
Kim xx
Hi Kim, new to this blog. This card is fantastic , love it. I remember 1987 well as I was pregnant with twins and in hospital for 10 weeks on bed rest as they weren't growing. I know I hid under the bed covers because of the wind and have hated strong winds eversince. Lol lynne m x x
ReplyDeleteHi Lynne

I love too get to know the ladies joining me so feel free to always leave a comment when you have the time. Nice to see you

Oh Kim this is a real WOW card! I love the colours you have used, and what a great suggestion to work colour on colour. I love all the stamps and they are so versatile. Kiss stamping is something I haven't tried, so must give it a go. It's all those little extra touches and techniques that make this card so special. I remember the 1987 storm very well. We were living in Surrey and there was quite
ReplyDeletea lot of damage, we personally were quite lucky - only fencing and a smallish tree - but I think Kent was worse off. I remember one place where nearly all the trees on the windward side of the hill were lost. Anyway, sorry the winner of the goodies hasn't appeared but thanks for redrawing it today. x
Hi Pat.
DeleteAhhh thank you so much Pat. Colour on colour adds to the illusion of depth and we are building up to making things having shadows and to mist, and to reflection so , we learn slowly so everyone gets the techniques.I was also sorry the lady didnt clam but there will be lots of competitions over the year so she can enter again once she realises.
Hugs
Kim xx
Thank you Kim for a great tutorial! Gorgeous card and love the colours (which I have) plus love the stamps (I have 3 of them) to say I love butterflies that is the stamp I don't have! Very strange, lol. Will definitely give it a go when I get the butterfly. Xxx
ReplyDeleteThankyou Pat. You can use and stamps to create a card it just I love my Visible Image and how they stamp so perfectly.
DeleteThe butterfly comes in 2 sizes , I was using the large one for this project.Have great fun when you do this card, and member I would love to see.

A very good tutorial and I love the colour combo. Kiss stamping is one of those under utilized techniques but yields fabulous results. I'm falling in love with Visble Image stamps.
ReplyDeleteHi Wanda
DeleteThank you so much for your kind words. It certainly is under utilised so I thought I'd revive it a bit.I am pleased you are in love with them as I am too very much haha.

Hi Kim, loving the techniques you've used on this card. I've not tried the kiss stamping before but will definitely vive it a go having seen this gorgeous card you've made. The colours are lovely together especially with that touch of sparkle. I do remember the storm of 1987. I had not long started secondary school & living in the countryside I remember lots of problems getting to & from school along the country lanes in the bus that took us to & from our small village. I do worry when it's windy particularly as we have quite a large tree outside our bedroom window! I'm so thankful we aren't affected by the floods here.
ReplyDeleteAmy x
Hi Amy

I thank you for all your kind comments regarding my craft, I do love it so much. i am lving all the kind words you added to the log too , so thanks for that.I have trees very close out the fron t too but they seem to be fine each year so thats the main thing.I am also extremely thankful I dont have the floods but my heart goes out to all that do have them and how scary it must be to all of them.

Hi Kim, another beautiful card, I love this style. I'm definitely going to try to do one with the stamps I've got, the colours are lovely. I've heard of kiss stamping but wasn't sure what it was so thanks for the step by step instructions. I remember the 1987 storms, I was 17 and just started my first job. We live on the Romney marsh which was hit hard, I slept through most of it, we were woken up at 6am by our neighbours who told my mum that our bird Avery was now in there garden! Birds all gone. That's about all I remember. Anyway looking forward to your next inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting
Jean x
Hi Jean
DeleteOh goodness what a shame about all the birds and there bid for freedom.
Nice to see you again Jean. hugs

Hi Kim fabulous card love it and the colors. As I have all the stamps you used and my two fav distress inks will try this tomorrow. I remember the storm of '87 wasn't that the one when Seven Oaks in Kent became One Oak??? Think I am too late for the draw but what a shame last week's winner did not come forward Happy Crafting lol xxx
