Happy Friday

Good Morning my crafting friends.

I Hope you have had a good week but please enough rain already... wow I'm starting to think I may sprout webbed feet and paddle everywhere haha.

I have a card again from the last show to put up on the blog and hope you all love it as much as I do.

Here you can see I used the crackle mask to emboss into my milk card then coloured the background my usual way with my distress inks. rusty hinge and peeled paint. I then laid over the Bird on a wire mask and lightly blended a little more of the inks over the tops so you can see the birds in the background.I wrapped some of the champagne crinkle edge ribbon around the card and tied a bow with it too.
The sentiment is from the Black eye Susan Just Rite stamp set which is stunning to work with.Which you all saw on the show with me and I use the sentiments a lot as they are so stunning. I also used two of those gorgeous metal corners for the top of the card which gives a lovely frame. I also matted tat first piece onto some black card then raised it on foam onto another mat and layer of milk then black card.
The main image here of course was from the butterfly multibuy I brought onto the show and here you can see very closely the colouring in matching and contrasting tones which I just love.

I hope you will all tune into our lovely Sue Wilson's blog today to see the answer to what was in the boxes from yesterday if you haven't found out on the creative expressions blog. I think she is making her reveal mid morning at Particraft.  And we all wish her an amazing amount of luck and success of course.
I am looking forward to getting out to a crafty atmosphere and seeing Craftwork cards and our lovely Julie and Sue on their stand but also to seeing my lovely friend Tracey for a cuppa and a chat too.

Have a great day ladies

  3. I agree Kim, I wish Sue lots of luck and success too with the dies, what I've seen of them on Sue's own blog is fabulous. I think I need them all ha
The colours on this card are so different should I say? not seen a lot of cards with these contrasting tones, but it looks sensational, very natural or real looking.
    I like Craftwork cards too.

  4. Hi Kim, another gorgeous card today. Beautiful dragonflies & lilies, did you colour with promarkers? Love that background too. Will pop over to see Sue's reveal, looking forward to stocking her dies in the shop. It's called Out Of The Blue & we are in Chipping Sodbury near Bristol, we are a gift shop with a room of craft supplies, no website but do have a facebook page if you fancy having a look. I started a blog Crafty Little Ideas about a year ago to show my projects for our workshops. Hopefully I will be able to say Hi at Ally Pally :-)

  9. Good Morning Kim
What a gorgeous bright and zingy card. The colours you have used are fab - something I wouldn't have thought of myself - I'm a coward when it comes to mixing contrasting colours! It puts me in the mood for springtime, and it couldn't come soon enough for those poor folk that have been flooded out. Your colouring is lovely - what do you use to achieve that great blended effect?. All-in-all a stunning card Kim.

  12. Another stunning card Kim with lots of interesting elements to it. The colours are lovely, and the main image with the dragonflies and the water lilies has been coloured beautifully. The metal corners tone in so well with the central image, and the crinkly bow with the button embellishment finishes the whole thing perfectly. x

  16. It's me again .......... just goes to show how excited I am about these new dies that I was repeating myself (about ordering)..... or is it just old age ??????
Once again, have a wonderful weekend - Pouring down again here!!

  17. Hi Kim. Sorry, I will admit that after yesterday with Sue's launch I neglected you ! It was MAD. Im sure if it had been a shop launch there would have been 100's of crazy ladies fighting for dies !!! : ) but I didnt just forget you (how did I let that happen) the council tax got forgotten too : ) ha, who cares.
I adore your colouring Kim, and after receiving my gift from you last week, I can say with hand on heart the photos wont do any card we see justice as the colours are so fresh and vibrant.
I would give all I posess to go to Ally Pally or any large craft fair, I can't
believe I use to live half an hour away from the NEC before we moved to Lancs, but I wasnt crafting so 'seriously' as I am now so it meant nothing, all those missed opportunities, hohum, never get those back will I !! I now live about 40 mins from Manchester and a big show there, but as far as craft is concerned I CANT window shop so I will have to save for another time another place when my all my Sue's Kim's and Nikki's are all in one place (please make it Manchester) pretty please : )
Sue did wonderfully yesterday, I bet she worked her socks off for months and months working on her samples ready for the next 30 odd days, and SO many new names appeared on particraft !!! lets hope for Sue's sake they will keep returning after the launch : )
    Well have a great weekend.
