Many thank you's for support and kindness to YOU!!!

Dear Friends and Internet family , Blogglies.

Thank you so much for the huge response I had on yesterday's shows and all my emails and comments from yesterday.
I had such fun with the shows , Stephanie and Leonie are such nice ladies and Leonie is  on my wave length with making craft fun etc.All the staff really look after you too and are extremely helpful wheeling all my stock for me etc.
Both shows I was lucky to receive so many emails the cup was over flowing which is just amazing , bless you all.
I also wanted to say a huge sorry for not being here for sooo long , I need to play a massive catch up with all the stunning brands I design for and say how thankful I am to them for the kind messages of support even when I have struggled to reply quickly due to hospital and planning etc.
That said I have lots of show items to put up here on the blog while I catch up making all he goodies from my lovely collections.
Without further ado.

Here is My Anchor's away frame which started life as a grey/green plastic frame from a cheap shop and cost .£1.50 I believe.
I explained on camera that the ship reminded me of the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Caribbean, Mandy my daughter has just spent a week in Aiya Napa, Cyprus  where they had a replica of the Black Pearl too. She had a great time in the sun and is as brown as a berry too.

Here is a close up , the goodies in the corner was a little bit finnabar inspired , I just added lots of items and painted them all in the matching paint then sanded a little back and added some gilding waxes etc, the backing stamp map was coloured in the same blue, but some in more of a wash while the other was used more opaque
I also used the citrus Adirondack ink on the land areas and mixed it with a little of the opaque bluet o change the tone a little. It is set behind glass and I added a pearl string around the aperture, I hope you like it, I know I enjoy adding this kind of thing to the frames and simply playing .

Next I have a little card showing the Arc de Triomphe in France, I actually have a photo of my lovely late father standing near this building so I loved working with this one.

A very simple card , the feature stamped three times and matted with black and raised on foam, Then the backing is 1st 2nd and third generation stamping all with the very small date stamp in the set and matted onto black, again raised on foam then a simple double whiite , pierced mat using our lovely Sue's trademark signiture to finish off a card.A tiny piece of ribbon and the Paris logo, a few pearls and VOILA as they say ....
Simple and elegant all stamped in Black Archival ink from Ranger , no frills just pure class I think.

."Bonjour"
All that was needed.

Well I hope you enjoyed today's twofer and I look forward to catching up this week and getting things on a more even keel with my design work , Please check back to read any replies from yesterday's post and leave me your comments today and anything you particularly would like to see focused as I am compiling a list for the next few weeks to get done.
Thank you for all your kind wishes and I will pass them all on at the hospital today .
Hugs and love to you all my family and I will see you tomorrow.

Love always

Kim

  3. So pleased the shows went well. Lovely samples today. I love the simple elegance of the black and white card. It's so easy to overdo it, and why, when simple looks so good!? Thank you, Jan

  4. It is good to see you back I may not have emailed you etc but have been thinking about you and family Great shows yesterday My fav card is the Paris one I think because it is very classy in black & white Like when you used the lighthouse I wouldn't have a need for a ship as I only make cards for family and friends None of whom sail I lived how you altered the frame Just need ideas for a different subject

    1. Hi Karen
Yes I know what you mean, but you know its good to do all different subjects and men are generally a worry to alot so i thought yep i will get on there and do a few.
email or text when ever you like , I know we keep trying to arrange a meeting but genuinely I will make a day this coming week.
      Hugs for now

  5. Hi Kim, the card is definitely classy but that anchors away frame is fabulous a real piece of art work. Don't feel the need to apologise for not being around family has to be your priority so don't break your neck trying to play catch up. I'll be watching out for those new heartfelt stamps, men's cards are something we all need ideas for, although I've got the Christmas and sunflower ones to keep me occupied at the moment.

  6. Hi Kim,
the pirate pic is gorgeous, love the "loot".
I like the concept of the black/white card but can't get warm with the French theme. That's because I don't envisage any use for it (I am a bit the same about all countries' focal points or capital cities). But there'll be plenty of people who will use it, of that I'm sure.

  12. Hi Kim, your "Anchors Away" creation is stunning, and I do like the map stamp (another purchase in the offing I think !). I also love the "Bonjour" card, my husband and I have the same birthday and used to go to Paris when we could to celebrate, we have been up the Arc de Triomphe a couple of times (lots of steps !). Hope to visit again someday. I am trying to do more stamping and have been having a go with second generation effects, it's good fun to be able to create backgrounds as well. Thanks for all your inspiration and tips xx

  13. Hi Kim. Loved the shows and it so good to have you back blogging, don't knock yourself out though, we all understand that Mum and family come first. Families always take priority over everything else. The Anchors Away frame is great, I love it and all of the embellishments : ) The card would be wonderful for the men too. Take care.
