Here is today's DT piece for Creative Expressions and wow I was soo pleased with this month's Goodies to create with and sooo different too.
I know you all know how I love all things Vintage especially paper and Couture Creations have a gorgeous little paper pad which is 6x6 called Vintage rose garden and yes it is as pretty as it sounds , oooo it just looks like a fancy high end chocolate box pattern it is soooo pretty and we were also sent a few dies and some gorgeous ribbon so here is the card I came up with for today and how versatile as the pad also had the little postcards and sentiments too so on this card no stamps were used at all.
Although I couldn't let go of my ink completely and had to use a little Walnut stain distress around the edges of the papers to take them a little further into the vintagey goodness and also to cover the white edges of the paper.
Here is the finished card.
The finished card is roughly just under a 7 inch square and it is so pretty, I just love these colours, the pink is very much in this years colour tone for the year which is Marsala on the Pantone colour spectrum with its mauvey clover type tone in the papers.
So I started by picking three of the papers from the pad that I liked together.
You can see the sparkle added here.
I then gave it a mat of blossom pink card and another of soft gold card. Plus a further layer of both cards raised up on foam to create the back piece.
I then added foam to the back and turned it on an angle to lay on top of the glittered piece.
On one of the sheets in the paper pad there is several mini postcard pieces and some postage style stamps so I chose a couple of the cards and again added them to blossom card and inked the edges of course and added them both to the top right of the card slightly tucked under the ribbon
I also chose the sentiment of another of the pages in the pad and inked the edges again and added to the blossom card stock ( theres a theme here haha).
I then cut two of these gorgeous little dies perfect for St Davids day with the daffodils on the very intricate little die. It is also from The Vintage rose collection and it is called Daffodil spray. I added one whole piece to the top right of the card above the two small postcards and then cut a second in half and added a piece either end of the first piece to extend it. I also inked it lightly to give it some colour on the edges. It is so delicate and pretty it suits this card very well.
I tied a bow from the larger of the ribbons in the finishing touches set and then a triple bow from the small ribbon in the set and added them on top of each other on the bottom left of the card with a bronze flat back button to cover the knot.
This is the ribbon I used and below are the vintage bronze button's I had in my stash already for knot coverage and other embellishment moments lol.
Here is the longer image so you can see the mats and layers and although you can only just see the glitter peeking on the central layer and the 3rd paper peeping through also without it it would have looked really bare so it was good to add these steps in and give the card a stylish and polished look.
To complete the card I added an 8mm creamy/ivory pearl in each corner with some glue to make sure they stay on the glitter and dry nice and strong.
Here again is the finished image.
I really hope you enjoyed this Thursdays venture into the vintage world of the rose garden and I would love to know how you feel about it.
I hope you are all having a great week with lots of love from my house to yours.
Hugs
Kim
