Creative Expressions Thursday

Hi folks

Good Morning
Here is this weeks card for Creative Expressions , I have used the stamp from the stamps to die for range
I kept this one simple and let the stamp speak for itself as it is so pretty, Using just a piece of the wonderful paper pad we on the DT were sent for October.

I am loving blue at the moment and especially the blue in the flowers

I stamped out the nice crisp image and used the sentiment that came with it to simply add next to the main image.

I chose a few gel pens and a water brush to colour the image in so I got a nice sparkly pearly finish for this one. I used a tile to mix any colours with a little water too.

Here is the image coloured and I used a grey promarker to go around the edges to make it stand forward.

Next I took a piece of one of the papers from the paper pad for this month and this is actually the back of one, so pretty and matted it onto blue card. I then took some seam binding and wrapped it around the lower part of the card three times.

I gave it another mat of blue card with foam in between for the backing and also added a mat to the back of the Apple blossom and raised this onto foam and added to the centre of the card.

I went around the sentiment with grey as I said to pull the image forward and you can just see the white gel pen in laces on the writing as a little highlight, I also used the white to highlight throughout the flower bunch and foliage also.
Next I tied a three layer seem binding bow and added some pearls strings to it and topped the knot off with a small pearl embellishment. I chose not to add any pearls around the edges or anything else other some stickles to the sparkly flowers just to give them a nice twinkle, so I used a baby blue colour and kept it only to the flower heads, although you cannot really see that on camera I am afraid but it is there all sparkly in person.

I did try to snap it but as I said it is very difficult to see on cam.

I went in with darker blue and green and added a few shadows to the bottoms and underneath Flowers which you can see in this photo for shadow and a 3D effect.

Here is the complete image again

Thank you for stopping by and for all those of you that comment and enjoy what I do.
Have a great Thursday and I will see you all very soon.

Love to all.

Visible Image Wednesday

Hi Everyone

Nice to see you all. Huge thank you 's to all that entered our Big Pink event for Breast Cancer awareness and a welcome to any new visitors as well as huge hugs to all my lovely ladies that are always here.
Sorry you all didn't see me last week but I am u an running for this week with some lovely cards etc.
As of next week  my Visible Image day will be moving to Tuesdays so it will be Visible Image Wednesday no more and Visible Image Tuesdays instead haha.

Hers is today's card , You know how I like to add some masculine themes in from time to time as I genuinely enjoy doing them so today's card is just that using some wonderful stamps as always from Mark and Helen.

Do you like my little scroll haha..

So with out further chatter here is how I put this one together.

I started by stamping The Reason to smile stamp out twice on off white card with Black archival ink. Leaving a gap on the other side of the card.

I ripped toward me on the right hand side only and created an exposed edge to the paper.

I inked the edges of the whole piece first with Tea dye and then with Vintage Photo, I then used the same Vintage Photo and stamped the script from the Revolution set over the entire background.

I gave the edge another layer of ink on the raw edge only and used a piece of ribbon like a measure down the centre Vertically.

I added All this to black card and matted that onto off white card  before setting this part aside to work on the little scroll.

So I took a length of the same off white card and stamped The reason to smile with Vintage Photo onto it once. I used scissors to ruff the edges and create some ripped raw pieces and inked them all wit the same combo of inks as before. I rolled the top of the scroll back work and the bottom forward around a pokey tool and then I took two new little eyeshadow applicators and ripped off the end sponges , I added some Treasure gold to the ends and glued them inside the rolled up sections , I created a little mat with the same off white and black card
 Here is the side View.

Here is an image of the writing as I went back and using a trusty white gel pen I added it to highlight and make the writing pop forward.

Next I stamped out the feather from the gorgeous Angels are near set using perfect medium and embossed it in gold shiny embossing powder , I fussy cut the feather out and added Ink around the edges, I also added some treasure gold and buffed to a bright shine too.

Using glossy accents I added some largish blobs of glue all around the edges and using that clear glass glitter added plenty for a huge sparkle.

Back to the base section I wrapped lots of hemp string around the card vertically and secured at the back with tape and then gave the card another mat and layer of black and off white to complete the base.

I added the feather to the left over the writing and mounted the scroll on foam and added that also to the base.

I tied a bow with the same ribbon and added that to the bottom right over the string and covered the knot with a sparkler which looks like concrete. I finished off with old watch parts I had laying around and a key also.

So this is the finished card, What do you think?

The sets I used on this one are.

So Here was this Wednesday's masculine inspired card, I love these rich Vintage browns and especially teamed with the blues in the range of distress too such as Salty ocean but for today I kept it tonal and in the brown family and gave it rawness with the rips and gorgeousness with glitter too, see even men can have glitter haha

Have a great Wednesday my friends.

Lots of love

Creative Expressions Thursday.

Hi Folks

Today is Thursday and I have another card I put together using just the Bloom Beautiful pad the DT are using this month.
I think these water coloured feathers are sooo pretty in this paper pad and as an added bonus on the inside of the front cover there is a sheet with lots of embossed roses , tags ,birds and feathers which  you can cut out if you choose to. So I took some time and cut out a couple of tags and two feathers , I inked the edges of them using some Vintage photo distress ink and began putting this one together so without further ado lets get onto the tutorial.

I started by choosing the paper which is a little washed out in this main photo as the feathers are actually a beautiful muted pink and blue with a lilacy feel where they intermingle with each other.

I cut a large square from the paper and matted it onto plum/purple coloured cardstock.I laid a piece of crochet lace in off white/cream on a angle on the left side securing it with tape on the back then I added  some silver/grey crinkle ribbon next to it an again secured on the back. I then added a mat of milk card and another in the same plum/purple to create a frame illusion to the eye and keeping it looking neat with no exposed edges of ribbon etc.

Next I cut a smaller piece of the paper and distressed the edges with the edge of scissors but you can do it with one of the paper distressing tools if you have one or sand paper or a file, anything rough will scuff the edges enough, then once the edges are exposed I used Vintage Photo ink again and just coloured the raw parts of the paper edge.
I matted that onto a piece of that same Plum/purple card I used on the frame.

Using nice thick foam pads i adhered this last piece onto the frame on a jaunty angle for a little added interest and I kept to the same angle as the two ribbons I wrapped around the card earlier.

Here you can see a close view of the top of the card once I had fussy cut the two tags , the top small tag I took a sentiment from the Sunflower Bouquet stamps to die for that I will be using this month also and stamped it in salty Ocean ink to match in with the blue of the card backing. I have a paper punch that I used to cut out the little tag and wrapped some jute string through all three I glued the three tags together with a small bit of glue so they were adhered together in the correct position to add to the card in one go with that same thick foam. If you don't have the thick stuff , simply double up or you may prefer it not so thick if you have to post it etc.

As I said I also fussy cut out two feathers and inked the edges , I also took some baby blue Stickles glitter glue and took my time piping it from the nozzle in very small feathery striped from the centre out all the way u each feather one in pink and one in blue to match the paper , and incidentally you can see it much clearer here nestling in the background and the small purple parts where the two colours cross over , which is why I chose the backing card I used for mats as it brings out those sections to the eye on the paper.
Once I added the stickles and while it was still very wet I tipped on Diamond sprinkles glitter from Cosmic Shimmer for Creative Expressions for extra sparkles. I really am appreciating the double glitter thing I have been rocking lately, it makes a huge difference to the amount of sparkle on the finished look.

I tied a double bow with the same crinkle ribbon that we wrapped the card in earlier and I did the typical chocolate box bow and fanned it out a little covering the knot with one of the new silver toned dazzlers but it really is blue to match the backing and I love it, it is like an air force blue and this photo as always does not do it justice.

Here is the other feather that I fussy cut out. inked and stickled/glittered , I decided against using a ink glitter glue to match the pink feather and stick to the same baby blue as on the other feather to keep
 it all tonal.

At this stage all that was left was to add some little pearls to the edges of the card in a three and one pattern just to keep the eyes interested even in the very corners.

So that is the finished card, I really wish I could show how beautiful and subtle the feathers are on the paper and that some how this card looks so washed out and I hope you can see how pretty it actually is.
Just something a little different, for those of you that didn't see last weeks post the paper pad I used for this fabby backing was The Boom Beautiful 12x12 paper pad.

 Stunning.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the Big Pink Blog hop with Visible Image.
Have a lovely Thursday and huge crafty hugs to all from me.

Love and best wishes

Visible Image Wednesday.

Hi my fellow Crafters

Hope your all well and enjoying the shift in season, I am looking out of my window and the sun is streaming through the rich golds and oranges of the firstly turning leaves and the sky is a beautiful bright blue, today is going to be a good day I think. I am picking my daughter Mandy up from the airport today and looking forward to seeing her after her week away. She no doubt will be a beautiful shade of golden brown which will make me wish I was away lazing around on hot days sipping something long and cool filled with ice , ahhhh day dreaming again haha...

This week sees the start of The Big Pink week all around the country in aid of course of the amazing Breast Cancer awareness campaigns all over the world. The Visible Image team have been no exception and have been creating some gorgeous pink cards and projects all week with more to come , culminating in a fabulous blog hop on Friday with a masssssssive prize (Sneaky picture at the end of this post) to win from Mark and Helen at Visible Image and what a fun hop it will be too where you have to go collect the Pink letters.... all will be revealed on Friday of course but today here is my Vision of pink sparkliness ... ( hmm Kimglish again lol ).

You know how much I love the colours of the wind set and that beautiful big leaf so I decided to use a couple of different distress inks in of course pink tones and do a background covered in sparkle and the smile sparkle shine sentiment is stamped onto the glitter and brushed out using a damp paint brush.

Here are some photos from along the way creating this one.

I didn't do a step by step for this stage as I have done something similar very recently with this stamp set and how I ink and stamp tone on tone, I have also stamped out the little leaves in Versamark and embossed them in clear to start so they work as a resist in the usual way. The larger leaf was of curse stamped off the page and I used picked raspberry and Spun sugar distress inks along with a tiny amount of Vintage photo, I have also used some Raisin Adirondack ink too to add depth in the leaf detailing and as I knew I wanted to cover this in glitter some of the leaves would need to be quite dark to show through.

I covered the pink in a sticky sheet and made sure it was very smooth before tipping on some very sparkly clear glitter, I added a few mat and layers in white and plum card, I then went back in with the white glue and added another layer on certain parts of the leaves so I could added some glass glitter for texture on the card too. In this photo the white glue is still drying and eventually the whole thing turned clear with incredible sparkle but of course it never shows on camera, those of you who met me this year and did the make and take or have seen my items on the amazing Visible Image stands at the shows will know just how sparkly they are in person.

Here is a close up of the glue drying with the second layer of glitter, you can just keep building the layers if you want a really rustic texture.

So next I inked up my Smile, Sparkle, Shine stamp with the same Raisin Adirondack which is still a water based ink so I knew if it skipped in places I could water brush it out.
Luckily the image came out even though on glitter perfect with these amazing quality stamps although of course the higher parts on the glitter looked like it had little dots so I used my water brush and just smooth out the colour then left it to dry.
Once it was I took a Red promarker in a nice rich deep tone and added just a few shadows to some of the letters to make them look bright and vivid in colour, and the alcohol covers the glitter but allows it to sparkle too which looks so pretty.

Here is what it looks like after that last stage.

On the bottom right corner I decided to add the little breast cancer symbol in ribbon and on top I added a little pink leaf and a sparkly pink gem, I also added those gems to the corners of the card too.

The stamps used for this one

So of course tomorrow I will be back with a little something made for Creative Expressions and Friday is the special Blog Hop day for Visible Image who are not only being tremendously generous with 50% of sales of some of the Stay Strong stamp going to this very important cause but have created this blog hop and all the instructions on how to enter will follow on Friday and whose blog to go to next etc but in the end just look at this amazing prize you could win.

Oh my goodness, there is Characters and a snowman,a car and mixed media, Backgrounds and Aliens and Sentiments and special verses too, something for absolutely every style of crafter wow wow wow... In fact there is over £100 pounds in stamps here which is wonderful so be sure and have a go as you never know... ooo I rhymed ....
