Creative Expressions Thursday

Hi Everyone

Happy Thursday lovelies

I am on the way to the NEC at Birmingham with Sue and Julia and so If you see us please come and say hi , I'd love to meet you all and If not then we will meet soon I know it. ( we are there to look not demo today).

I am scheduling this post to come on while I am away but I will be here as normal tomorrow and more prepping for the OP and getting sorting this weekend to make life easier when I get home Tuesday I hope.

So Another part of this months DT package I received in the post was a couple of gorgeous perfume bottles and 2 things I wanted to try was to make one looked domed like I did with the purse the other week but this time just with shading  so it will actually be totally flat. The next thing I will do with it is to age it and make it look really old but I knew I didn't have enough time for that tonight so I went for gorgeous teals and blues with Milk card and pewter wax used with the rub on technique and I also Painted with it too.
So here is today's card.

I used the Couture Creations Tied together Embossing folder for the background and I stamped my image using grey momento as I coloured It with alcohol markers and then used wax and blending solution to paint it onto parts of the image too.
I also coloured my cameo to match the card as she started off dark brown.
My bow in crinkle ribbon in a grey, silver tone.
The sentiment or should I say scent-iment ( so not funny I know lol)  bottom right corner, I love doing this lately.
You can just about to see the curve on the bottle here.
There we are, close up and you can see it looks domed, so easy to see in real life but I have moved it every angle apart from standing on my head and ... just no so don't ask lol
Here just to prove it is totally flat.

Well I hope you see what I mean and I hope you enjoyed today's post too, Anyone leaving a comment can win this card today so have a great day and I will answer as soon as possible.

Big hugs to all

Love

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone is having a good week, I am having a very busy one and only have enough time left to blog this and tomorrows posts a head of time before a couple of hours sleep then I am off to visit Creative Expressions. I am looking forward to seeing my friend Tracey and helping her prepare for workshops at Kettering.
Today's card is from this months launch called The once upon a time collection and I love it, it is very me with all the clocks and flowers and the colours are divine.
Take a look at my card.

What do you think
I stamped my image and coloured it in with Adirondack inks and distress inks of course haha. I covered the image with a double sided sheet and micro beaded it then wrapped some of my dusky pink ribbon with a fine gold edge to it around the card which I added onto a piece of the gorgeous paper with the clock image already on, I mounted that onto some plum card and then cream card which I pierced and added onto foam and onto another piece of cream.
I looked in my stash for clock hands and a metal sparkly frame I could put my sentiment in and I was lucky.
I added a bow on top of the ribbon and a hand made flower using the Majestic blooms collection die and stamps too, I also made up 4 of the tiny flower and placed them on top of the image I stamped as that already had flowers on the image so I built them up and used a few leaves from the classic leaves collection too which I snipped apart to use a little here and there. Lastly as always a little bling in the corners and the flower centres and hey presto.
I have a much more detailed description over at Heartfelt Creations today if you would like to come see please do.
Here is some more pictures for you.

You can just about see the Iridescence of the micro beads on the image sparkling a little here.
Another of my flower, bow, twirl combos , I do love making things look pretty like this.
A little closer on the edges and the image, isn't it a stunner.
Ahh, now you can see the little beads sparkling.

A full view as it lays on my desk, I still love plum just as much.
This shows that the flowers are raised and I have added bling to the centres of all the flowers raised or flat  for a change.
Last one. Keeping your pierced edge straight and your matting crisp and straight gives a professional finish to the plainest of cards and makes all the difference when people look at it up close.

I am sorry it has been a little manic these last couple of weeks with winding up things for the Operation Monday and trying to keep to schedule for the companies I design for it certainly has been a bit manic but I will be home the day after my op ( I hope) and with be recuperating and we can all catch up every day and I am looking forward to creating lots of goodies too.

Hugs

Visible Image Sunday.

Good Morning lovelies

Well I have thourally been enjoying waking up to feel sunshine again, hasn't it been a gloriously sunny fresh week? Even just one day of warm sunshine does so much for my well being and I see it all around me, does it affect you the same ?
I had a very nice evening making my piece well I should say piece's as you have a Two- fer today as I am now on track this week and then went into have a sort out mode , it is now 6.22 a.m and I am doing  my blog piece as time just disappears when you are crafting doesn't it.

Before I dive in to show you Today's cards I wanted to do the Random.org picking for the card I made Last week and the number that came up is

The winner is Beryl Treble who was the 2nd person to comment therefore wins that pretty card made using the get well stamp new out from Creative Expressions. Beryl please can you email me at my usual email kim.robertson70@googlemail.com with your address and I will get it in the post to you , I promise I will get it there a lot quicker than the last ones too.
I also just wanted to add , it does not matter how many cards you win I will always add all the comments in to the draw fair and square which is why I use a random picker so it will always be fair for you ladies, I have a huge build up of cards just now so we must do some more give aways this week or if you know someone special who deserves a little card, email me and tell me and I will send one off to them.

Right, I have been using another of Helen and Mark from Visible Image's gorgeous flowers and verse combo's this week, I chose to use this one as none of us enjoy making sympathy cards but the words Helen wrote truly are endearing without that hopeless feeling some cards make you feel so I decided to make 2 very clean cards.. for me , as I haven't used lots of inks and waxes etc as is my usual style, I kept them both simple and clean as I feel that is all that is needed on such a sad occasion.
I will show them both and then go into the more detailed pictures folks.

 Card Number one 'Sympathy Flower'.
Card Number two 'With Sympathy '.

Both cards were made with the same stamp set which was of course The With Sympathy set.
I Started by taking a small piece of Milk card and stamping the head of my flower with Vintage sepia Versafine ink, then the verse then I could add With Sympathy as the title and keep it all lined together and neat.

Helen's verse again is just right here.
A small purple bow on top of seam binding was enough I felt, and as you can see I had embossed the backing sheet of milk and pierced the next layer to give some texture and elegance without looking too cheerful if you know what I mean.
And a little close up of the tiny pearls attached in the centres of the flower junctions. I matted and layered the card several times very simply , an embossed layer, a pierced layer and a couple of plain layers in a corresponding  shade.

The next card I made using Kraft card and milk.
I started with a long narrow ish piece of kraft card and stamped in several place using a second generation stamping, with Versafine vintage sepia again, as it picks up details very well. So Ink , blot on scrap and then stamp on your card stock and repeat til you have several on the page then dry them well with a heat gun and rub over with your anti-static pad.
Next use Versamark or perfect medium etc to ink up the same stamp and stamp in the gaps with the embossing ink, once all done tip on your true white detail powder for embossing and heat set.

I added 2 mats in milk and Kraft then wrapped a piece of seem binding around it first and secured at the back, then I used some thin stitched ribbon that matched the Kraft colour and wrapped that over the seem binding before adding the next few layers . I then stamped out the lovely verse onto a long thin piece of Kraft and Heat set again with true white powder, I matted this onto some Milk card and added 3mm foam to the back to raise it up from the thinner mats below.
I also stamped out my 'With Sympathy' title and cut it out with a straight side and a forked side like a flag or ribbon end, I also matted this onto Milk card and added it with a slight curve in it raised one end on foam and the other end just on cosmic shimmer glue and pushed it together slightly to create that bend. it then sat just over the verse.

Of course I couldn't leave out the verse as it stamped perfectly as always.  I added a jute string bow tied simply and fanned out into a figure of 8, and added a gold ribbon rose to the top and some dainty white pearls to the flower and slightly larger to the centre of the ribbon rose and corners.

Well I hope you liked them, which really does seem an odd thing to say with the sad theme of the card but we all have to make or buy then at different times and I think this is a beautiful verse and flower to tribute to a friend who suffered a loss.

Congrats again to Beryl Treble for winning the card and don't forget to send over your address so I can post it to you , as I have a week to go before I have to have an operation on my ankle and will be in plaster for 6 weeks so when you ladies come to Aly Paly to say hi you won't be able to miss me as I will be the one hobbling to the stage haha.

Have a great Sunday all
and big hugs from me to all.

With love

Creative Expressions Thursday , ( A day late) !

Hi Crafty folk.

Ooo I missed a day out this week , now how does that happen, well I will tell you , are you all sitting comfortably? good then I will begin.

I uploaded the pictures for today's card and edited them all and that was that, I do not know why for one moment I did not do the blog post there and then but I didn't. Today I had to take my car for an MOT and it failed but I quickly got it fixed (ouch my pocket is lighter) and then it passed thankfully as it has a couple of long journeys to do next week. All I can think of is that I was thinking of that but I didn't even think of the blog post until My lovely friend at Creative Expressions asked me if I had done it oh dear the shame, hangs head lol...
Oops  so although a day late I hope you like it.

I used the lovely Get well sentiment stamp for this one and stamped out just the bottom of the pattern with Plum archival ink . Then the next mat is in the gorgeous plum card I love so much as you all know, I also wrapped some ribbon in 40mm wide organise in a contrasting colour.

I took Raisin Adirondack ink and stamped out just the  bottom part of the get well stamp first to see how several  image look in a row together, I really liked the effect so I decided to cut a piece for my card.
Here is the Archival ink in plum that I used to stamp the main images and I used snow cap to add to the Scented Corner stamp to created the chalkboard effect on the Kraft card behind the main focus.

I also used a little white gel pen to accent the swirls in the patterns.
Here's another view with more of that gorgeous stamp, the white pen is also in between each stamped image.
My bow in a lilac colour is a double bow, with so Tulle and card twirls and of course one of the gold ribbon roses.
these are the two singles stamps I used for this project.

A close up on the centre and feature and I used 4 Adirondack colours for this one which I will show below. I also used some pearl swirls and added some gold tiny gold pearls randomly.
Here are the inks used to colour the images

The finished image of today's card..

So also a reminder re the gorgeous Big stamping and scrapbooking show is at Aly Paly again in April  12-13 and there are so many of us including me going to be there demoing.
I apologise that this post is late and I hope you enjoy today's card and anybody commenting on it today will have the chance to win it as I will pick with Mr random and it will be a giveaway.
  Hugs

Visible Image Sunday

Hi everyone
I hope everyone has had a very nice week and a nice sunny weekend so far and today or at least down my way is supposed to be nice and sunny and warm how lovely. It definitely makes you feel better as soon as a bit of sun shines through doesn't it.

I have been in the old craft room today creating a card for Visible Image and I went for that classic Periwinkle blue and Milk Foundations card team again as I do love it. I also used another of their new flower and verse sets recently demo'd by our Mark on C&C. This time I used The Thank you set.

I stamped out 3 flower heads and stems in Archival blue violet ink and then drew around one side of each flower in Broken china distress pen and dotted the centre with Picket Fence distress pen. I then went over the darker colour with little dots of the Sakura gelly roll clear star pen this one has a silver sparkle but it comes in lots of colours, I also stamped out the thank you sentiments and measured how far down it would come on the page so I could add the verse.
This is the Archival I used on this one and below is the 2 distress pens.
( How I would love to have the big tub of these to do some art with) hmmm
I also used
This was used to ink the flower for the rose and rose buds and also for the edges of the embossed milk card too.
Here is a close up of the flowers stamped onto milk card with the Blue violet then broken china distress pen was add one side of all the petals and one side of the stem. Then the sakura pen was added for that sparkle. All three were added onto Periwinkle blue card and then navy card. I used 3 mm foam to adhere them to the milk card that I embossed with this subtle dotty image.
This is my full rose bloom made with the Majestic bloom die from Heartfelt Creations on top of one of their Classic leaves also, which I inked using adirondak inks.
These are the three small buds also made from the same die but using the smallest flowers, all four flowers the full and three buds were made with one set of flowers from 1 pass through the Grande calibre die cutting system.
Here is The little Thank you mounted on just a small piece of the raindrops on roses die from February's launch for heartfelt creations, below you will see a whole die cut , where I took my small piece from.

I tied a messy bow using Blue seem binding and blue and white bakers twine with a dazzler in opaque blue on top. Here are the two below that I used.

Of course we have another fabulous verse from Helen at the bottom stamped again in the same blue violet archival and broken china added to the right side of each letter then the sakura  sparkle on top.

A different view to see the dimension.
Lastly a few flat back pearls added.
Here is the stamp set
"Thank you"
that I used.
So I hope you enjoyed today's card and that the beginners among you will give it ago as it really is only the flowers that are intermediate on this one so have a go and remember I'd love to show anyone work if they have seen anything on the blog that They were 'Inspired by'.

Why is it we always want to spring clean or think about it at least as soon as the sun shines anyone know? I was at that well Known Swedish store getting more boxes and storage items so I could get a little more organised in the craft room, what do you all store your stash in?
Lots of love
Kim
