Visible Image Sunday

Hi Everyone.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend, it certainly isn't as sunny (yep I said sunny,) yesterday actually had a big yellow ball in the sky for a short time. I am really looking forward to less rain and a bit of warmth on my skin for a change.

Today is Visible Image Sunday so I have a card I made with the new sets that were just launched on C&C a week ago and I think they are stunning, as you know our Helen writes all the verses herself and Mark designs the artwork so without further ado here is The Happy Birthday set from Visible Image.

\I thought I would keep to a simple colour scheme and let this stunning set speak for itself, I love it.

The bow sits at the bottom and match's the colours very well.

 Helen's lovely verse.

I used the flower head to create the gold embossing behind the sentiment and the white flowers on the frame.

And here is a close up.

I love working with Kraft card, there is something about it , especially when you include white with it too.
here is the set I used today
Isn't it stunning, there are a set of 6 different ones and it is just amazing what you can do with them.

I hope you are all having a great weekend

hugs

Kim

  1. Sunday Smiles to you Kim. I keep forgetting what days you post, so commented quite late yesterday, and just thought Id stroll by after getting back from our daughters. Im SO glad I did, what a stunning card. Wowee. How do you do it, card after card after card ! I know you are sent stamps etc from your designers, so that's your incentive, but if someone asked you to do a ... Birthday vard for argument sake for a... 30ish year old, where do you start ? I try to use fav colours if I know them, and any interests the recipient has then go from there (and hope for the best) ! Remember that good luck card using a nissan micra and 2 white shepperds for a driving test ? Her mom wanted a congratulations (hoping she passes) I will email the outcome to you !!!
Thought Id missed the market where I can take MD cards, but as my head is all over the place id got it totally wrong and the market is 23rd MD the 30th ! So I better find my mojo ! (cant believe its a Sue show) I shall miss her again !! : (
Time we had the pleasure of you again doing a show Kim (quite suprised you wasn't on Visable Image show) last week.
I hope you are having a happy and more healthy weekend Kim.
    Hugs.

    1. Hi Steph , I am aiming to post everyday but time doesnt allow me to do that all the time but I try where I can.I am glad you like this card. I do what you say for your cards also, I think of colour and items they love or a detail about them which is only them and then try to incorporate who they are which is hard when you don't kow them but I have a good sense of knowing people through others and interpreting who they are ( think it is the hairdresser from days past in me). I dont always have an idea I just sit and play and something happens. So glad youdidn't miss your show and I hope it does well for you. Hugs Kim xx

  2. Afternoon Kim,
Another beautiful card, amazing that you have done all that from one stamp. I saw these on C&C & thought they were lovely stamps then, but after seeing what you have done, I now want them, oh no need them.
Like you I also like white embossing on kraft card but I always forget to use it.
Have just bought some CE stamps & glitter paste so am busy putting a peacock on everything at the moment lol| Keep well, sadly no sun here today but maybe tomorrow.

Sorry didn't get to leave a message yesterday but was out all day at local flower show, sold lots of cards to help raise money to send our team of flower arrangers to the Chelsea flower show in May.
Hope you had a good weekend and the migraine has gone
    Best wishes, Pat

Thank you so much , I do try to put detail in and so you find lots to see on the cards without over doing the embellishments as it can be so easy to do.
Have a good week too. Kim xx

  5. A lovely card Kim made with another set of VI stamps. The sentiments are lovely on both these sets and the Kraft with white also works well. I like the idea of using the edge of the flower around the die shape which looks like fringing. It looks like gilding wax you have used around the edges. The pretty corners and the ribbon and string topped with that rose and all the pearls make lovely finishing touches. Hope you have had a good weekend. x

    1. Hi Pat
The sentiments By Helen truly are lovely and there is a set of six so we are very lucky.
I used gold embossing powder on the stamping that looks like frienging and also a more copper colour of gilding wax around the card and apperture. Thank you for being here.

  8. Hi Kim. What a beautiful card. I love kraft card and the white and gold work so well with it. I was trying to work out what stamp you had used around the beautiful sentiment! I didn't think of it being the flower! Very clever. Hope you are feeling better. Take care.

    1. Hi Mrs B
Glad you like what I did with the flower, I like to do something different. Its good to think out of he box sometimes and just look in a different way as us crafters are always saying but this is a typical example of such.
      Thanks so much

  9. Morning Kim, A truly beautiful card, I love the kraft card with white and gold, at first glance I was trying to think which 'fringed' die-cut you had put behind the sentiment, how wrong was I when I read on further and found out you had used the flower head to stamp and heat emboss, genius !! The sentiment is really lovely and the colours are lush. I love it !!
