I want to say a huge thank you for all those amazing well wishes yesterday, I am so happy you are all here with me and I feel so very supported , we have some busy months ahead of us and I am so very glad I have all my crafting blog friends here with me along the journey . Bless you all.
As you know from previous months the first day of the new month is the start of the new Visible Image challenge and this month of March's theme is Your favourite Visible Image stamp. Well that sounds simple doesn't it but I love sooooo many it is so hard to choose, so I chose one of the very newest ones designed by Mark and the verse hand written by our own super talented writer Helen, what a power couple they are together. Plus they are such good friends too.
The winner at the end of the month of course wins £20 to spend on any Visible Image stamps they choose from the website. The rules are very simple too, just no digi stamps and use at least one of the Visible Image stamps especially with this months theme to use your favourite. So what are YOU waiting for. Pop over to the Visible Image blog and check it all out.
So here is my Fav and my inspiration piece for March.
Thinking of You .
Here is a close up of Helen's gorgeous words and I think they are just perfect. I used True white embossing powder on Periwinkle card for the verse.
Closer on the main piece which was achieved by stamping the head of the flower onto milk card with versamark and clear embossing powder. The same for the Thinking of you words on the bottom of this piece. I then used Adirondack inks to create the background remember to rub the ink off the resisted areas then I covered it once dry with a double sided adhesive sheet , cut it out and sprinkled fine Glitter all over and burnished it into the card. I then went back over the edges with corresponding inks in same colours on top of the glitter to darken it and add in more flower stems.
Here are the colours I used.
I created two Visible image butter flies and coloured it with a Sakura metallic Gelly roll glitter pen as below and covered this in double sided adhesive too, tipping on micro beads and adding a bit more gel pen to some of the beads and added some grooves in the pattern too, I used small flat back pearls for the body and added them to opposite corners.
Sakura Gelly roll in metallic.
I used simple garden string to wrap around the mid section of the card and tie the bow much like the latest trends with twine bows but I wanted it to be more rustic along with the corrugated card.
Here are the embossing powders I used , clear for the resist under the inks and True white for the Periwinkle card and for the brown tag piece on the front of the card.
In this picture not only can you see the string bow which I added some glue and some glitter and gold gilding wax to, the button I also covered in Gold treasure gold but you can see all the mats and layers some raised on 3mm foam some on 1mm foam and some simply mat and layered with cosmic shimmer glue. The bottom layers are in Kraft card and one has been pierced using a piercing ruler and a 1mm pokey tool.
The Gorgeous Visible Image stamps used this time are.
Can you believe I just used the two stamps sets for this lovely sparkly card, even I had to double check myself lol when I had finished as It isn't like me to use just a couple.
Well I hope you enjoyed today's post and I hope you will remember to check tomorrow for another Visible Image card for my Design team day card.
Don't forget lovely ladies if I have done a card or item that inspires something you have then created snap a picture and send it to me at my usual address if you would like to have me post it on here for you to be proud of and I truly love to do that for you in my new Inspired by section.

The colours are gorgeous & I agree bout the weather Can hardly say sunshine but it's definitely brighter here. Yet another company I must investigate! I must pluck up courage & hav a go at stamping as you can produce so many lovely effects with micas, paints, colouring, embossing etc Gals to hear migraine is on the wane As a youngster I was put on daily meds to try & prevent them! But that was a long time ago Off to a ruby wedding 2nite and they don't want pressies so going shopping 2 see if I can at least get some flowers coz I don't want 2 turn up empty handed!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen
DeleteI hope you can have a go at stamping you honestly will pick it up in no time and you can always email me anytime and I will help where I can.
I too am on several migraine meds to prevent and to stop and to slow it all etc etc crazy things but we all get them in the family and I get two types , most people dont know there are many different varieties of migraine.I hope yur Ruby wedding ( how special that is) went well and yu had a great time.
Hugs Kim xxx
Hi Kim. I love todays card. It does seem as if you have used more than 2 stamps doesn't it. It just shows that it is how you use them, rather than how many. Sorry to hear that your migraines are being caused mainly, at the moment, by other painkillers. It's a vicious circle isn't it, pain = tablets = pain!(Glad that your eyes and BP are fine though : )) I hope you get your ankle op very soon, then you can look forward to far less pain all round : ) Hope you have a good weekend. We have a beautiful blue sky, at the moment, hope you and all of your blog readers do too. Take care
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs b
DeleteI thought it looked like I had used more stamps but it is the layering I am always talking about. You are correct about the vicious circle re pain for sure.Ankle op is soon but I will let you all know when.
Hope you had those blue skies all weekend ours were fleeting on and off then rain and now more rain. haha
Hugs Kim

Hi Kim, I love this card. Usually I don't go for butterflies but your card has changed my mind! I suffer from a rare disease that causes me constant pain, so I know how hard it must be to craft and just "do" life while in pain. I do hope that your pain will ease competely. I check your blog every day but don't always comment as typing is painful but I love your inspiration and craft whenever I can. Lots of love Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah
DeleteI also was not a butterfly person believe it or not but have done so many lately that I think I have convinced myself to love them lol
I totally understand with pain and I am so grateful that when you can comment that you do, thank you so very much for doing that for me,
hugs Kim xx
Afternoon Kim, another stunner from you today. I love the colours you have used & yes it does seem like you have used more than 2 stamps.
ReplyDeleteHope the sunny weather is making you feel a little better today. Look forward to the card coming to us tomorrow.
Sue x
Hi Sue
DeleteThankyou so much for the kind words and for liking todays card.
Bless you
Kim xx
Evening Kim and all Kimmies : ) what a fantastic card. I had no idea you could continue adding ink to blend OVER the top of fine glitter. Amazing. And it doesn't take away the beautiful shimmer the glitter gives. I love the way you build up your cards Kim. I use 8x8 mainly, but there are times.Ive used those smaller scallop cards on top of the main card, to make a 'card on a card' effect. But I really like how you have the main focal part of the card at the top, leaving room for the sentiment. Between you and Sue you are really starting to help me think differently, and although I wont ever be good enough to be part of Inspired By, your ideas will help when I get my next batch of orders from my regular 'lady' Id love to think that I could have done something a little similar for MD/Easter cards for the market, but that was last week, and I couldn't make it, and no market now until after Easter !! : ( im gutted (cant wait to see what our ladies here send you for your nect Inspired By) so far they have been A M A Z I N G : )
ReplyDeleteHave a good Saturday evening ladies.
Lancashire Steph xx
Hi Steph
DeleteYup I am always saying you can colour the glitter and it stains it but does not detract from the sparkle, isn't it pretty.
I do use some ready made cards but most of the cards we are asked to do have no backs due to needing then on boards at shows etc so we just use the card and build up and if I need to send a normal card I will glue it to a card base and add an inside to match.
I am so pleased your inspiration is building and that I can help with that and I know Sue would love that she is inspiring you too.
Big hugs
Kim xxx
Good evening Kim
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are feeling a better (especially coming up to a busy period in work) - I have MS and know very well what it's like to feel below par. I love your colours in this card - they just pop!! I always forget to use my adirondack inks, sometimes I think they appear a bit brighter than the distress but I suppose it all depends on your base card colour. The white embossing detail is just lovely (I haven't tried that for a while - I'll put it on the 'to do' list!) and the twine bow is beautiful. I think my mind is wandering....time for bed....
Hugs
Sharon Kirkwood x
Hi Sharon
DeleteI am so very sorry you have to cope with the pain and problems that MS causes you. Any time you fancy a crafty chat or if you need an ear please feel free to email me anytime.
I sometimes forget to use the Adirondacks too but I do love how they blend together and they are brighter I think than the distress. Even though I love them all.
I am glad your mind is a whirl with ideas , that is what I hope to acheive with the blog.
Hugs

Beautiful colour effects you have created here. A very effective card from so few stamps.

ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design of card, so many different levels and textures. Not keen on brown/blue but that's just me. I would do it in different colours, but appreciate the beauty of the card.
Have a nice Sunday with a painless head (or anything else for that matter)
Hugs, Rose
Hi Rose
DeleteGlad you liked this one too. I love brown and blue and blue and cream and turqoiuse and brown. But I really have a passion for colour thats for sure.
Hope you had a good weekend

Good morning Kim what a gorgeous card you have created here. I think I need some detail embossing powder. I pleased you are feeling better and will be off the meds soon. Migraines are no joke. Have a good weekend. Sorry I was late with this comment. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteHi Jackie
DeleteThankyou and I am glad you think this one is gorgeous, I loved it. Detail embossing and how much pressure you apply on a stamp makes all the difference to a straight edge or a wobbly one. Thanks for being here with me. Kim xxx
HI Kim,
ReplyDeleteOh my what a beautiful card today and I love the colours. It has brightened up a very damp and miserable day here in North Wales. Butterflies always put a smile on my face and that one is so pretty aI love that blue too. So pleased you are feeling better.
Love Sheila xx
Hi Sheila
DeleteSo pleased you liked this one. You are in wales along with Visible Image yayy. Hope you had a lovely weekend Sheila

Such pretty stamps and you have used such lovely colours with them Kim. The butterfly stamp is a good size, and the blue and the brown contrasts beautifully with the white embossed seed head. The brown corrugated card goes really well as does the string bow with the pretty button on top. Glad you are feeling better. x
ReplyDeleteHi Pat
DeleteYou are right they really are very pretty all 6 sets of them. I love all the elements you discribed and hope you will try some of them too.
Big hugs
