When is it CE day and when is is not lol...

Hi Folks

Well today would be my day for Creative Expressions but just for this week my post is going up on Friday now so I have delayed that item for one day and thought I would come and show you a couple of things from last show that still haven't been on here as yet as an extra day.

Well as we speak ladies it is absolutely chucking it down here in Hertfordshire , erkkkk  I have a feeling the summer is now gone completely.. what do you think? As much as I love Autumn colours with all the rich Browns , tans and oranges I certainly do not like the damn cold nights and the flooded garden and wet foot prints etc.I am definitely not a winter person despite being a January baby.
So here is the heart frame I made to give away last show as it didn't get a close up on here , I loved the texture of it by painting over the leaves on the frame etc.

I even managed to make the key on the frame look like it was in the verdigris colours. This little frame started off White and very plain and all I did was take off the back and stamp out a little picture and add it inside and then add those few bits with hot glue to the frame and paint over with the CE Chalk paints which cover really well. Even the zipper rose got it this time haha.

I also sanded back the paint in places and added some gold wax and put on a little lace handle just in white.  It was different but as it was a travel theme that show it all fitted rather well.

The little Suitcases were decoupaged on to the picture after so they were further forward.

Here is the last little close up. I had so many emails come in to the show to win this , the cup over flowed as it were haha. I know it is with a lovely lady who wrote me thanks after the show so that makes me happy to know it went somewhere nice.

Next was a simple one made to show off the mask I used to emboss with on the background, and he little ticket stamps to show off the backing mat too.

I kept it really Clean and simple with just white and turquoise card for the mats and layers and purely just ink on the top layer to show off the postage shape images.

Another angle gives you a little dimension to view on the matts also.

Here you can see a little more detail and the little sentiment I cut out with a plain die just to give it a soft feel.

And wherever you go there is always a map or something saying You are here isn't there so I thought as it was a male theme with travel things i would just add that as a little embelli to give it that clean finished look.

Ok all, I will be back with the real blog post for this week on Friday which will Tally up on the Creative Expressions blog as always and I hope its a nice day for you all tomorrow.

I am on the prep build up to my next show on C&C so keep the 8th of Oct in your diaries for my Christmassy themed shows and I hope you will join me for a few laughs as always.

Love to all

Kim

Its more the damp weather that affects my ankle but it has been any weather really since before the Op so I am hoping my ankle will cope better this winter. I never mind you using my card ideas, I am very pleased for anyone to give them a go. Go for it .

  7. Morning Kim, We have sunshine here at the moment (my fingers are crossed that it continues !!) I have my bedding hanging on the line and there is the tiniest breeze but hopefully I will be able to iron them this afternoon haha. The rest go in the dryer. I don't like the autumn as I hate leaves especially wet ones, I have this absolute 'thing' about them, and I am constantly going outside to pick them off my garden, they're not even mine haha !! I was born in December and I too hate the Winter, we are akin me and you haha.
Your projects are gorgeous, the colours are always complementary, I love them.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  10. Two lovely pieces of work Kim. The heart frame is such a pretty blue and it has a vintage feel with the sepia tones of the picture inside. I like the way you have decoupaged the suitcases, and added the pretty lace handle. The card is lovely with the embossed stencil background in those two pretty colours. The two little toppers are great, especially the one like an arrow pointing., very clever. Hope the prep for the shows is going well, and with a bit of luck will be able to watch. x
