Creative Expressions Xmas Thursday.

Morning all.

Here we go with some more Christmas goodies taken from the recent showing on C&C TV.
I hope you enjoy them , I know I thoroughly enjoyed making them for you as always.

This first one is one of the demo's I did on air with the negative space from the die cuts of the peace doves by Couture creations and our Mallow and clover misting inks, I used the sentiment stamps from the Just Rite Christmas post set of stamps.

I used the vintage label seven to cut out the sentiment and I flipped over the die and drew around it and cut It with scissors to create a faux nestie mat with black card. I created the backing by simply dabbing the ink through the negative space from the dove die cut onto a piece of card then covering it in sticky adhesive tape and covering that in the glitter jewels I then took the same sprays and used them with a paint brush to add to the edges of the wings and to frame the image before matting and layering in the same white card stock and adding some ribbon and spritzing one of the white flowers in mallow to bring in the colours through out the card.

A close up of the clean crisp die cutting on the doves and I used them at a slight over lap with the back ground to create a shadow behind them in the pink.

Here is the bow I made using the gorgeous and very elegant ribbon on the show in a real vintage gold colour.  I loved this one.

Ok next is a complete contrast in terms of colour so here it is.

I used clear embossing on Plum card stock for this one and I just love that tone on tone look it is totally amazing and very shiny. I also used the mixed Christmas blessings from Just Rite for the sentiment.
Here is a close up on the Couture Creations central die cut element and my little ribbon tag for the centre with the die cut on it. Also that gorgeous ribbon again.
I thought I would do a long shot with the lights on so you could really see the shine on the embossing powder which was also from Creative Expressions. I had no problem matching up and repeating the pattern from the background stamp for the backing image on the card too.

Ok that is all for today, I hope you enjoyed this Christmas twofer and I will see you very soon.

Hugs for now

Love
Kim

  3. Hi Kim
Two beautiful cards today. I especially love the plum one as purples are my favourite colours. I saw you demo the dove card on C & c when you were last on. It must be sad for you that they couldn't keep you mum at home. However, she is in the right place for them to treat and care for her. Please pace yourself with visiting as it can be very tiring. I used to spend a good part of the day when my mum and partner was in hospital. It's more tiring just sitting and worrying than working. As I'm sure you found out when you had your operation. Please give your mum some big hugs for me, and I hope they get her as well as can be expected soon.
    Crafty hugs to you both.

Remember to take care of yourself too as it is easy to forget when you are so worried about her. Sending a hug for you and your Mum. Take care.

Let us hope that your Mum is in the best place, where at least they can help her, and the fact that she looked 'rested' is encouraging. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

  8. Hi Kim. So pleased that your mum is being looked after and is more comfortable. Parents are as worrying as our children! Look after yourself, too. She'll need your strength.
Your cards are beautiful. I especially like the plum coloured one. I really must get some of that card and the gear to go with it!!
Thank you. Take care, Jan x

  10. Evening Kim, 2 brilliant cards but I just love the plum one such a fabulous colour. Sorry to hear your Mum had to be admitted to hospital. I know it's very difficult as no one ever wants to see their loved ones in hospital, but it really is the best place when someone is very ill especially for them comfort and you know they will be monitored and care is immediately on hand.

  11. Two really beautiful cards Kim. I love the doves and the pretty glittery background on the first, and the tone on tone embossing on the second with that gorgeous plum card, and the pretty central die cut and sentiment, and also that adorable gold ribbon you have used on both. Sorry your Mum had to go back in to hospital, but if any problems occur she will get it sorted much faster and easier where she is. I hope she remains stable and comfortable and make sure you look after yourself too. x

  14. Hi Kim.
2 beautiful cards. Both so different, but they both share the elegance you have bought to them.

I dont have to say much regarding your later comment as we've shared our thoughts via email. I spent night and day for 6 weeks with my mom up to the very end, I was lucky as she was in the hospital where I worked at the time.
Im thinking of you and your family at this time Kim, and hoping mom will be more comfortable now.
You have my email if you need it.

    Sending my usual gentle hugs.

  17. Hi Kim. I hope your Mum is still comfortable.
I am sorry to bother you but sadly neither Pat S's or my prizes ever arrived so we both need to make a claim to the Post Office. Please can you let me have the details of when and how you posted them so we can put in our claims. It is so annoying when things go missing in the post and Pat's especially must have been quite a big box with a lot of goodies in it. Hopefully they will both turn up once we complain to the Post Office. Thank you. I will let you know what they say. Take care.
