Hope you are all doing well this Wednesday and wow Huge huge thanks to all the wonderful support I have had in emails and messages over the last two weeks of prep and shows , gosh it has been manic but was all worth it. I had a fab time working with Dean, Nigel and Jackie, it's the first times I have worked with the boys too and I had a whale of a time with them, I think it is cos I grew up with three brothers and worked with several fellas over the years so it is like having brothers on air with you messing about.
You really are the best ladies on any blogs you know, you are all wonderful people and support me with your kindness every post and email. Bless you all I wish I was rich so I could stock all your rooms up lol.
Talking of stock I am so sorry I still haven't posted your goodies all out to you all yet, I have just been so manic I didn't leave the house but now that's done I will definitely get it all sorted this week. I also received the sets from CE to give away to the main winners too now so I will get it to you all I promise.
With out further ado I have a little card I made for the Amazing Visible Image this week in one of my fav inky combos too for a real clean and sharp look. See what you think?
I used the gorgeous Music Background stamp without a block to give that shabby music backing paper look in random sections. I love to mix that with sharp stamped text too. If I was taking it further I would take a stencil with some modelling paste or texture paste and add some extra layering in the back, plus some embossing with the other backing stamps but for this one I wanted it clean.
So here is the gorgeous stamps set and I used some Archival Red ink in the Wendy Vechi colours Red Geranium to stamp it as it really is a true vibrant red. Not orangey at all.
After stamping the random background on white card I inked the edges in the same colour and heat set. I then matted and layered in black white and more black, I really like this sharp smart look, its like when your see your kids in their school uniform for the first time it looks so sharp.
I also used the same ink and stamped out the main sentiment Create your future and mounted that onto black too.I stamped the heart and used my promarkers in three red shades to get in and have dark and light areas, I also use two greys and once coloured I went over with my Sakura gel glaze pen and gave it a coat of varnish to make it shine and my gold stardust pen for the sparkle. I added the black dots back in to the design to make sure they stood out too.
I added mounting foam under all three pieces and added them to the card. I took three small flowers and coloured 2 of them with the same promarkers and used the varying shades again for dimension. I used a little sparkle on the edges too. I took my leaf stamp from the poinsettia set and stamped two in brown and went over with red shading, using my glaze pen to add in the veins so it resisted the inks.
Lastly I added some black gems in various places to give it its finishing touches. This card measures 6x6 inches as a finished piece.
Here are the stamps I used on this one.
OZ Tin man set, poinsettia Set, Create your future and The Music Background.

Hi Kim
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card and I love what you've done with music stamp. I'm not off to the NEC this year as I did Ally Pally instead this year. I look forward to seeing what I won in your giveaway. Lovely shows by the way. I had to record them as I was out at school.
Hi Kim, it was so lovely to see you back on our screens again, although it must be so much work to get everything prepared especially as they sometimes say "can you just do this?"!!! You take it all in your stride though! And you are so kind to take the time to reply to our comments, it makes us feel special. Love the card as always, love the colour too. Can't be at the NEC but hope everyone who goes has a lovely time. Lots of love Sarah

I love this card Kim and the musical notes background and what a great idea to use the poinsettia stamp for leaves. I love the rich colours and the gorgeous shiny heart too. I have been so busy this week trying to find clothes to wear to a wedding this Saturday - I know, terribly last minute and it's not going well, and so I didn't get to see the shows, but glad it went well. I will try to watch the recordings on C & C - hope they are still available. x
ReplyDeleteMorning Kim, A gorgeous card, loving the red heart, the stamp is fabulous, I love how you have 'completed' this card, it is fab-u-lous !!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to hear names that I recognise, from your Blog, on your shows, I emailed in twice but didn't get any read out !! The shows were brilliant.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Kim
ReplyDeleteSuper card, love the stamps and the heart is stunning. Sorry didn't get to watch the shows but sounds as if you had a great time
Best wishes, Pat
Hi Kim. I really like this one! The music background stamp looks brilliant-might have to look for that one. I like the quirky heart too, but not sure that I'd have the patience to colour as you described!
ReplyDeleteThe shows were great. I'm so pleased they went well. Is it time for a rest for you now?
Take care, Jan x
Lovely card Kim ashame I was still away for ur shows Love the heart - very quirky Stamping the music notes in red is a clever idea too You can't beat red, black and white colour combo either
ReplyDeleteEvening Kim, great card design as always, these look like lovely stamps to work with. Recorded your shows to watch whilst ironing and enjoyed them both. It's great to watch when you get the opportunity to show some techniques. I'd have ordered those little finger dabbers but they had sold out by the time I got to watch.
