A huge thank you to all you guys from me with big old hugs attached.
So many of you emailed in with your support and I really appreciate that lovlies. I had a real blast with the lovely Stephanie and she is a beautiful warm and helpful lady. Then I got to meet gorgeous Leonie and had a blast with her with our challenge show too, she is a great gal too and I loved the demoing so all in all what a great day, I realise the demos need to speed up I dont want you all dropping off on me haha.
Today sees the last chance to leave comments for my competition too as I will be using Mr Random.org at around 6 tonight to choose a winner to send those gorgeous goodies to.
I thought I'd start to show some of the samples from the show so you see them a little closer.
Sunnier days.
You can see the crackle background again here
Lots of layers I really enjoyed doing this one as I think the cheery colours make you feel a little like the sun is on its way eventually even if if feels like everywhere covered in muddy water at the moment.
I love the muted colours and composition here being clean and simple , sometimes a tiny bit of ink is enough.
A close up of the embossing details , I used the enchanted gold wax in the background over the Script mask and then used the butterflies and flowers mask over the top of that. Of course that gorgeous Ribbon on the show is used a lot in all these samples and this one is proudly displaying the Rose coloured ribbon.
I thought I would spend a few minutes answering any questions you wrote in and asked but we didn't get given to answer on the show via emails.
Sylvia Minter from Norwich asked if The masks come in a larger size for instance 8x8, well Sylvia they do a range of A4 sized masks below is a link to the ones I found on the Creative Expressions website if you ever need to look
A4 masks. Leonie in Wetherby said she was distracted by my bracelet cos she wanted one haha during the demos, well Leonie my gorgeous daughter bought me it as part of my Christmas prezzie and it certainly is a sparkly one. I don't know where she got it I'm afraid but will ask Hilary in Harrogate had some poorly grandkids with her and thought I could say hello and wish them better, which I would have of course if they had been given to me so Emilia and Callum who are just 3 & 6 I wish you get better quickly and hope you had a lovely day with nanna, who I hope does not get your illness too. Denise In Leichester asked what card I was using on the show and will the Couture Creations fit into The Big Shot machine. The card stock I use is always Creative Expressions Foundation card which I use all the time for everything as it is uncoated so inking is perfect on it but it is also lovely to mat and layer with as the weight is between 210 and 240 dpi depending on the colour. The coconut white and the plum and the soft gold are my all time firm favourites. But I just love them all, the teal is a great one too. The embossing folder is yes absolutely it will fit in the big shot. I had so many emails from you all which you don't see on air but I have a huge bundle and they all say welcome and they are enjoying the shows, also that I am different and that I inspire them all with my relaxed demos to want to try to use their inks so much more and realise you do not need to be scared to try and give it all ago, "nothing ventured, nothing gained " as the saying goes.
You all also say that you feel Creative Expressions and me with my style will be a perfect union and you all can't wait to see more of my demos and that you loved that I did the challenge during Leonies show and what an absolute different idea. Well I had lots of demos prepped and different cards to make and I really enjoyed doing some of them in the mornings shows and had several more to do in the afternoon but Ireally just wanted to 'wing it' pardon the pun. So I asked Leonie and the producer what they thought and they agreed yay... And what you all saw was totally real I had absolutely no idea at all what was coming and I loved that , I think I was a little slow but it will all get better with time, what do you all think? Carol won that card , I'd of liked to have added some pearls and glitter etc which would've made it just that bit more special but I will be doing lots of card give aways on the blog from today on so everyone will have more chances of seeing some originals which have taken a little longer to make up. Regarding some videos that I want to start doing for you all , I have a tripod finally on its way to me so that should start the process as I need my hands of course to make for you.
Thank you again to all the ladies that come on and check the blog every single day for new inspiration and who emailed into the show and are sticking firmly with me on this journey I will be back later with the winners of my competition so Have a great day.
For those of you wondering , I have had a mega problem with blogger playing up today and not lining things up correctly etc so if it a little squiffy I am so sorry. Lots of love Kim XXXX
Hi Kim
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, I watched in the morning but only caught the last 15 minutes of the afternoon show ( had to collect grandchildren from school ) but your cards were fab and so glad you showed your signature colour blending, definitely going to try this. Hope it's not too long before you're back on the screen but in the meantime we have your great blog with all the great instructions
Best wishes, Pat
Hi Pat, You can always watch the shows on c&c anytime if you go on the website , they continue to show it for about a week after, you go to tv schedule and find the show you want to see on the day it was and there is a little purple play arrow. click it and a window pops up with the show. But like you say thanks for being here with me and enjoying what i do here. Kim xx
DeleteHi Kim, saw one of the shows and you did so well! Lovely samples and demos!xx
ReplyDeleteHi oksana, thanks so much im glad you got to see. and that you liked the samples. Thank you for tuning in too. Kim xx
DeleteWatched & recorded both shows yesterday & thought you did brilliantly & didn't seem the slightest bit nervous. Loved all the samples, so much so, that I had a go at the butterfly card & was really pleased the way it turned out. All your samples are so inspiring, that's three of your cards now I have had a play with. if I can, I will email you with pictures. keep up your brilliant work & thanks for sharing. Sue x.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, no I didnt feel nervous at all, funny hey, I just need to learn a fair amount of things but once all that is done i will find it easier im sure. I absolutely loved the cards you emailed me and am so happy you have been inspired by what i do, you were extremely quick turning that card into a work of art for your home too. well done. Kim xxx
DeleteHi Kim, I think its great that you have answered the e-mails on your blog. I've recorded your shows and not had chance to watch them yet.
ReplyDeleteHi Beryl Thanks for your kind words , I will always try to answer emails and messages as i want to know you guys as much as you want to know me. I enjoy being here with you all genuinly. I hope you enjoy the shows when you have chance to sit and go through them with a nice cuppa. Kim xx
DeleteHi Kim. So glad that you enjoyed yesterdays shows :) I missed both of them
ReplyDelete:(( My car had problems so I missed the 9am show then had to go at 2pm unexpectedly and we can't record programmes at the moment so missed that one too. I was not a happy bunny! Love both of the cards on here today, they are both beautiful. Hope you have a good weekend. Take care.
Hi Mrs B. You can catch up with the shows on the website at C&C if you want to watch it. but I am glad you are enjoying the cards on the blog. You have a lovely weekend too. Hugs Kim xx
DeleteTwo lovely cards Kim, and I'm sure making cards on the tv isn't as easy as you made it look, but you did extremely well, and I bet after another time it will seem like second nature. I saw some of the afternoon show, I missed the beginning, but the 'freestyle' idea was great, and a bit of a baptism of fire, but you came through with flying colours. I look forward to your next appearance. x
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, I just love all things art and love to 'play' and make cards look harder than they are so it was great fun, i had demos prepped but i thought it would be great for leonie to challenge me into something, i knew id enjoy it. Thanks for watching, i am so pleased you did. Kim x
DeleteHi Kim. Managed to catch most of your afternoon 'challenge', which I really enjoyed. Watching the thought process and trials of different things was interesting and reassuring. I'm a beginner and try so many different things before I think things look ok, it was good to see that the 'professionals' do that too! The camera missed your bow making, which I would like to have seen. Another time please. Will look forward to watching your next demos.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Jan x
Hi Jan , I think part of the fun is moving things around and having things in different places 10 times before youtink nope i want it here. so glad you were there with me and enjoyed the show as much as me. I will definitely put the bow and flowers down to be made for a demo another time but im going to start doing videos soon and i will record it and put it on the blog at some point. So glad your here jan. best wishes Kim xx
DeleteHi Kim, love both the cards. You inspired me to actually do my own backgrounds, because you get the exact colour you want, I've got enough papers to last my lifetime but still struggle occasionally. Your demo's are so good, and will look forward to your next shows.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting Jean x
Hi jean, Im so humbled when you lovely ladies all say i inspired you because i really simply love art and think it is amazing the things you can do with ink. Im glad you are inspired to colour blend your own papers and i hope you will join me for future shows and here on the blog as i try to answer as many messages as i can. Crafty hugs. Kim xx
DeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards!
Have a good weekend,
XRuth
Hi Ruth, thanks so much. You too. happy crafting. Kim xx
DeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteThoroughly enjoyed your shows yesterday, and there wasn't a sample card which I didn't like. They were all beautiful but my personal favourites are the ones in the greenish/yellowish/orangeish colours. And just to contradict myself: my absolute favourite was the water lilies blingey one (do you know the one I mean??).
Brilliant demos, you don't need to become quicker at all, no good going at lightning speed with half the folk not knowing what you just did.........
Looking forward to seeing you again (and again..........)
Have a well-deserved, great weekend
Hugs, Rose
Hi Rose. so so glad you enjoyed the shows, Im glad you like all the sample cards. i worked hard doing all those that week.I know exactly which card you mean lovely but i will be showing thm all this week so you can stop me when i put it on. Morning Kim, I absolutely adored your shows on C&C, your samples and your demo's were all stunning, although I 'take my hat off to you' with your 'winging it' haha, I would have been mortified haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving these cards today, thank you.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
