So nice to be here , sorry I wasn't here last week but boy did I miss you all.
I have a sneakie at the new launch of gorgeous Inkognito, I for one just love love love them all. Visible image are having a huge launch of not only Inkognito2 but of other ranges coming out very soon In fact they go on pre sale Fri 6/2/15 that's right this Friday.
The stamp set I chose to use for today is called Colours of the wind and I just think it is so classy and versatile, it could be used for so many different occasions and mixed media art would be a dream with this one.
So here is today's card. What do you think?
I thought I would start with a very textured piece with gorgeous bright colours and shiny gold waxes there is so many elements and cute rustic pieces it may take a few minutes to go through this one I took my colours of the wind stamp and some card dusted previously with an anti-static bag
I stamped out my image using Perfect medium twice ,I also used Clear embossing powder to set my shiny embossed image to the white paper..
The colours I chose for this one were wild honey and peacock feathers as shown below.
You will see here I also have some extra smaller stamps around the main image I actually cut one of the smaller leaves away from the main image so I could have it to use as you see. I took my distress inks and began colouring the page ,the embossing of course is acting as your resist against the water based inks, I used the usual colouring method that's we have discussed many times here on the blog. I also then used the tone on tone inks and stamped some more little leaves.I also stamped part of the sentiment which said colours at the bottom of the page.
Here I decided to mount this piece onto Kraft card I also took some treasure gold furniture wax which I use alot in my mixed media projects and canvas arts, and lightly added it to the clear embossed leaves and once dry (about 10 seconds) took a micro fibre cloth and buffed the whole thing to a real high shine. I set this aside and moved to the next layer.
I took a piece of Kraft card and a couple of types of burlap I secured it to the card and frayed it as I went. trimmed to size and mounted onto a piece of white card. I made one more layer which was another piece of kraft onto white card and gathered all my pieces together.
I tied a bow from brown silk seam binding and added a small burlap string bow atop of it and lastly added some treasure gold to some broken Cinnamon sticks and used that to add to the knot of the bow.
As I stamped colours at the bottom of the card from the sentiment I decided to add the word wind in burlap which I inked and treasure golded also. And the last touches were to add a few more broken pieces of Cinnamon sticks and the card was complete.
The finished card .
The stamp set I used was called Colours of the wind and it will be available on Friday from the Visible Image website of gorgeousness.
Have an absolutely great Wednesday Guys and dolls and I will see you all tomorrow.
Love to all
