Visible Image fantastic new Release day.

Good Evening all

Well today I have an extra post for the fabulous Visible Image as they have a huge new launch day with new characters and lots of new sentiments and really thought provoking phrases that are just not covered by any other team. I just love the individualism and combination of a fabulous artist/creator and an ingenious Poet and wordsmith /media specialist in fact Helen and Mark are the opitomy of jack and Jill of all trades and I am sure they won't mind me sharing that with you all.

To See all the brilliant teams work on this new launch and catch up on The Visible Image blog pop over after you finished reading here and have a look through the blog to keep up with all the news etc.

In the meantime I created a Mixed media canvas which I would like to share with you all and I hope you love it as much as I do.

I realise it is quite hard to pick up on the shabby chic sort of colourway but it is actually pale pinks chalky whites brown and gold in all the recesses I used the stamping on 1 ply of tissue to get the image transferred to the canvas method for this one coating it in PVA glue to hold it on to the surface and over the entire thing to protect it. It will wrinkle and bubble but that's ok just leave it be to dry as it flattens itself out as it does.
I prepped my canvas then by adding a thick layer very roughly of texture Crackle paste around the sentiment in a frame shape, I heat dried it til it cracked then I added some hessian in places and also some cheese cloth and I dried that layer. I then took a stencil and ran some Grunge paste through the shapes which were splots dots , stripe , zigzag in a grungy pattern in random areas. dried again then began adding all the goodies.
After I had done that I started adding all my items to the canvas and here is a picture of all the items attached before all the colouring started.

You can see all the items in their original colours and what they all are here with mixes of gold and silver , green and turquoise flowers and how I built up the winged dragonfly in the bottom right corner.
I covered the whole thing accept of course the main show in the centre which I shielded with card cut to size. To start I covered everything in Gesso in fact I did a few coats not only for opaque coverage but also for texture as some place I stippled the medium on rather than painting it will smooth brushstrokes.

After the gesso I went  in with a vintage chalk acyclic paint in a pinky/lilac cool tone and covered everything then added several spritzes of colours in browns/golds/mauve's to the mix and dried in between each coat with a heat gun.

Here is that same corner finished with all its glitter.

I did not do a complete tutorial of every step as a piece like this is done in several steps and can be rushed but I  am a perfectionist it seems lol, but if you would like one please just let me know in the
comments. I strongly advise a hot glue gun though for a piece like this as it will take longer having to wait for every part to set.

Here is the top right corner , I had some chipboard frames that were oval so I cut a piece of the frame and added that to the canvas then I found a little plastic cameo button , very ugly and cheapy looking lol so I made her beautiful with an old stone like texture.
I really just keep adding til I have a balance to the canvas and so it looks complete without being  over the top.( some may say it is if you like the minimal look but I do enjoy this style and you get to use up small left overs and such like.

Here is the finished piece again and I truly hope you will have a go or we can do a series on how too or some thing like it.
The stamp I used for this one

I absolutely love it.

anyway I hope you will go look at all the hard work put in by all for this launch and the amazing goodies made by a fab team.

Oh and itssss FFFFFRRRRRRRIIIDayyyyyyyy whooopppppieeee

love to all as always from my house to yours.

Hugs

Visible Image Wednesday

Hi folks

I hope you have all had a good week and not too affected by the recent snow flurries. We had a couple of days worth but not too much.
Did you all get to enjoy the recent new launch of lots of gorgeous stamps for the fab Visible Image if not I have a card today I did in some really pretty girly colours that I really enjoyed making.

See what you think?  Colours of the  wind.

What an amazing stamp set this is. as soon as I saw it I hoped I could create with this one, I just loved it .
So here is what I did to start.

I took some versamark embossing ink and some clear embossing powder on some white card and took one of the small leaves from the set and stamped a cascading array of little leaves going diagonally across the card . I added my powder and heat set.

Next I chose the colours I wanted on the card, and while I new I wanted this one to be a pretty card, I wasn't sure which colours until I remembered my lovely Seedless preserves Distress ink and so I took my Milled lavender first and started to work this into the page and followed in with the darker shade. just in gentle circular blending movements with a very light hand to keep from getting lines etc. I then took the Milled lavender and the same little stamp and stamped several in the lighter shade which you can just see and then of course I did the same with the darker shade. I also darkened the edges of the card with the Seedless preserves so we had no white edges showing and really darkened the bottom right corner fading up into the card.

Here I took a micro fibre cloth and rubbed the ink off the embossed piece and worked the colour with the cloth into the little leaf edges which casts like a very subtle shadow if you look carefully , which gives the backing a lot of dimension without loading the card with lots of flowers and goodies on top  just for a different look this week.

I chose to stamp the matching sentiment in simple black archival at the top of the card .

Then mounted it onto black card and then some foam and another matt and layer of white then black card for a classic clean look.

Next I took the large stamp from the set and look at himmmmm wow hes huge, haha and all that veining. stunning just stunning.
So using the same two inks I added the colour to the stamp with the light on one side the dark on the other and sort of blended and got it all covered then stamped it onto some thin white card the bendable type. and heat set it but of course distress is reactable with water so I spritzed it and then dabbed the colour off leaving some droplet shapes here and there. I also took a white chalk pen and flicked it at the leaf and heat set it all again.
I added a few white highlights around the edge and crumbled the leafs edges a little, not too much  and lastly I used a Sakura gel ink pen and traced some of the veins to give some sparkle and shine.
I added this to the the bottom of the card using some dimensional foam to lift it away from the  card too.
This picture shows the shine more and the edge s with the little highlights and a little darkened  and blended edges too.
I left the leaf slightly off the edge of the card to look almost like it was just floating away .
I added this angle so you can see how flat this one is compared to usual but yet how much depth you can add with how you stamp your backgrounds. I also went around the little leaf edges with some white highlights as on the big leaf and some sparkle so in the light this looks so sparkly and pretty, I just love these colours, they really are some of my favourite.

This is the set called , Colours of the wind. I used from the Fabulous Visible Image team, My very good friends Helen and Mark.

Please pop over if you would like to and look at all the new images on the launch there was so many this time, it was a huge huge launch with several different types of stamps this time and we were just sooo lucky to be a part of it on the team .

I thought I would share with you this little girl balancing on the back of my craft chair while I was creating this one for you all to see. My chair is very wobbley so she was hanging on for dear life here haha, meet Duchess my neighbours Kitty giving me an old fashioned look as if to say ... sit still haha.

Well I hope all is well with you all and I look forward to sharing lots more things over the next couple of days.

If you are inspired and would like to see more of the fabby teams work with the 24 sets of new stamps from this launch feel free to pop over to the Visible Image blog and have a scroll through at all the amazing inky goodness from the Design team, so much work goes into these launches and Helen and Mark really do work through the night and make sure everything is all set. This is a true family run business and I love it.
Here is a link to go have a look and leave some love if you would like too.

Lots of love to you all

Visible Image, New launch..Revolution.

Hi Everyone

Happy Happy Saturday

Hope you all are enjoying the sunshine and getting your crafty hats on cos today I have some new stamps from Visible Image to show to you all. I am amazed by the Visible Image team and the amount of samples they were making one after the other, I couldn't keep up with them unfortunately not this time, sitting too long is almost as bad as standing with the swelling in my ankle just yet but I am on the mend guys, I am going to show you a couple that I created and give you all the links to go and see what the fabby team has come up with so far and I am back again tomorrow of course with my usual day.
So to start I think I should Thank Mark and our lovely Helen for the fantastic stamps and give you the link to the blog to see more Here.

Here are the stamps in the original form so you can see what gorgeousness arrived through my door.

I loved love love these as soon as I saw them, If you like to get all inky from time to time then this is perfect for you , they also stamp like a dream, perfect first time as they are so extremely deeply etched with the polymer.
Even the ink splat writing stamp is so perfect for all aged backgrounds and any over stamping onto shabby chiq paper with all your vintage shades, Amazing.. did I mention Amazing...lol
Ok I Know I know, show you the cards you say, well they are more pictures than cards so here is the first ... Yes another Twofer folks...

I had an image in mind while I was working on this one but I made it night time instead so My first Idea actually is on my second card (typical me hey).
So I started this one bu taking a piece of bright white card which is very very smooth and wiped it over with my anti static pad. So the powder will not stick to any finger prints etc.
I then Stamped out the half horse 3 times using Versamark sticky ink. I embossed with clear Powder. I repeated that process for the swirl and masked of areas on the stamp and only used the sections I wanted for the waves.
Next I took several blues and purples and after adding a mask for the moon I began to blend the blues at the lower edge I kept the dark blue just around the horse's and in between the waves , moving up the picture I used milled lavender to do the area below the moon then dusty concord with chipped sapphire Distress in the top of the sky.

Next I flicked water onto the distress ink in places some large and some small drops , I left it just a coupe of seconds and then blotted with a paper towel this left little dots which I would later turn into these bubbles.
I rubbed a little more versamark all around the edge and used a copper embossing powder to draw your eye inward. I also used an embossing pen and dabbed some dots over the horses and waves and used the copper again.
I stamped my fleur de lis and embossed in white powder top left and revealed my moon, I took a dry baby wipe and dipped it in my dusty concord ink and wiped just lightly a few stripes over the moon I also added a little grey to that.
Next I took my trusty white pen that I am always talking about for highlights, white drawing ink also works or white pastel pencil for a more subtle look too. I took my light source from the moon and drew some highlights on my bubbles , remember they are see through so they have a reflection on the opposite side of the bubble too. I also did lots of reflections in the water with white some I added the white and smeared with my finger downward as this indicates reflection then I highlighted again with the next layer.

I then took out my quickie glue pen and dotted around the bubbles and the lines on the moon , the stars etc which I covered in iridescent glitter. I also added a few more highlights to the copper colour in the sea and did a bit of matting and layering with an Aubergine coloured card and a layer of white to bring the white out in the embossing.
So that was picture number one and next was a very similar format but daytime see what you think.

I wish the cameras showed the cards in the true gorgeousness, I always add so much texture to my cards and yet they always look a little flat on here but hey I loved creating with these beautiful stamps and this was just a little idea because all the ladies on the team were creating crazy amounts of loveliness and all the ideas were going fast haha so I thought well I will be different and have a little surfer in mine ( of course he isn't one of the stamps he was just a scribble lol)
This card was created just exactly the same as the last one except I kept a space for my surfer blank and my moon became a sun I also used the swirl slightly differently but with the same techniques.
So I won't write out the tutorial again I just used lighter colours , Tumbled glass, broken china, mustard seed , squeezed lemonade etc.
I am loving my bubbles they go perfectly with these gorgeous Masterpieces from Marks brain to the polymer and all the hard work Our Helen puts in to get them out looking gorgeous and marketing them, Thanks Guys (wish I could do loads more, but I will get there).

Here is another view.

Well my Blogglies (ha new word, cross between bloggers and lovlies)

Visible Image Launch , new stamps.

Hi everyone,

It is so good to see so many of you now leaving me comments , I still try to get them all answered so come on back and check from time to time won't you. I love to read your comments as it gives me such a good idea about what to show you and if I am going in the right direction with the blog etc so thank you all so much for that.

Now today is a very special day for sure , Visible Image are launching there brand new fantasy range today and over on Facebook they have a competition running and you can win all the stamps in the new launch (wow) and I just fell in love with Fae the minute I saw her so today's card is in tribute to her so without further ado everybody I would like to introduce you to Fae.

I have lots of pictures and close ups so you can see how sparkly I got the wings etc and I have a step by step too.

So I started by stamping the map background with versamark and clear detail embossing powder onto white card. I extended it upward and out and added a few lines here and there, it really doesn't matter as I am distressing it and ripping bit anyway. Below is the ink pad I used to stamp Fae so That I didn't have such harsh lines as I knew I wanted to colour her in pinks and purples.
These are the colours I used of distress inks to colour in the map after I had embossed it with clear powder I rubbed the inks in in my usual way. then used a cloth to wipe the excess ink of the embossed areas resisting the ink and that brings it back white again or indeed whatever colour  your paper is to start.
I stamped fae out on white card and also on some post it notes so I could mask her and create more wings etc. This is where I used the momento ink as I knew i wanted to use my promarkers to colour with today.
The top picture show the distressing tool I used to scratch up the edges of the map and I turned over one of the corners which I help in place with a sparkly brad. The picture below that shows how I added some hessian ( you know how it is my fav thing just now) then on top of that I used some corrugated card which I also distressed I mounted both onto some soft gold card and again I turned one of the corners over with a brad. I distressed the gold card too and added that onto a blush mat.

I then made it neat on the outer layers with a black and ivory mat and layer so it is now ready for the map to be added at this stage.

Lots of jaunty angles and layers on this one but I just feel like they all seem to work. I found this metal embellishment that almost reminds me of a shield with a crest on it back when knights were around etc.I also found a little Prima brad which had a compass on it which I thought was perfect.

It is a little blurred but you can see it is a good close up on the shield and compass.
So next I set out colouring in this beautiful little lady , I started with Promarkers and then used a Sakura stardust pen to add some glitter , which I brushed out with a water brush and dabbed the excess water off on tissue so the image wouldn't buckle.

I then used a quickie glue pen and some clear glitter to highlight all the edges etc and I cut her out partly with scissors and partly with a craft knife.

Here she is complete , however I wanted to add a little dimension so I stamped her out again and cut out and coloured her cape and head piece so I could decoupage it on with a little foam.

Here is a close up on her finished wings so you can see just how sparkly they are , they glisten in real light here , I wish you could see it.

Here you can see the extra piece I decided to decoupage.
Here she is added to the map and backing piece.

Next I took the sentiment in Fae's set and stamped it onto gold card with versamark and white embossing power, I cut it out quite randomly, not perfect straight edges and matted them onto black card and added them to the right side of the card almost like the old films portray a Ransom note cut out of newspaper clippings haha.

Lastly I added a key with a brad so the key moves  and I added a key hole metal plate. I hope you like it it took a long time for sure .

Come on over and join the Visible Image group so that you see all the teams work if you would like , there are some amazing makes for this launch for sure and also there is the visible Image blog too
you can always follow us on there too, My day to post is Sunday as you know and I always put a blog post on here and on their main site too so here is the link for that too (blog)

The stamps I used today are

Fae hope Set                                             Mystical Map Background.

I really hope you like seeing today's Launch and you will come and join in the fun if you can. I will be back tomorrow with my normal Visible Image days post and I look forward to reading your comments as always my friends.
