Creative Expressions Thursday.

Hello all and welcome back to my blog.

I have a pretty little number today in all pastel tones and summer meadow feel to it. I used our Phil's Dragonfly meadow collection of stamps and his lovely paper collection called butterfly and dragonfly meadows.
I chose a couple of colours which I felt would go together well from the pad and tore out a couple of 8x8inch sheets. I took the first buttery yelow colour and stamped on the largest stamp in the collection which took up the entire bottom of the card gorgeousness. hey

I have not added a tutorial for this one but please let me know if it is something you want for today's post and I will add one in for later on today.

I love this kind of creating where I have drawn in highlights and shadows to make the piece look like it standing out from the page much more.

I have kept this one simple as far as finishing elements so no pearls or extras other than the pretty flowers I added to two of the corners.

Show cards for Creative Expressions Thursday.

Hi my lovely Blogglies.

I hope you are all having a good week so far and enjoying the sunshine still.
My garden looks like a jungle nowadays , I really believe the grass is over three feet. I can't remember it ever being so overgrown out the back.
Thank you all for your lovely kind wishes regarding my hospital visit, The surgeon said he thinks that my ankle is healing well and is in a very good position but I need to elevate it as much as possible but that all the swelling where my foot actually looks like I have a nasty case of elephantitus and the pain will actually continue for 6-8 months minimum as there is a lot to heal and I mustn't under estimate the severity of the op I endured. I guess deflated was a little how i felt as I really just thought i would have this huge op and be in plaster then it would all be better after so many years in pain but although I can see the light at the end of the tunnel it seems I have a little bit of a hill to climb just yet. I am always over whelmed by all your wonderful kind messages so a huge thank you to you all for that.

Today I have a couple more of the show cards  and then next Thursday I will have a twofer on my DT pieces for June.

So here is card number 1

 You may have seen this one as a sneaky peak on C&C the week before the last show, This one features the gorgeous Sew Jo pad that I took on , I think this paper pad is simply adorable and I love every sheet in it. It is also amazing for men's cards as there are so many double sided sheets that are generic and do not have the sewing theme on. Of course I have used lots of Vintage Photo Distress ink and the are real wooden buttons with the paper attached on with cosmic shimmer glue of course.

 Here is a close up on the Little tag which i pushed under the edge of the paper which I rolled back wards and added the matching paper underneath, You can see the buttons a little closer here too.

 I also made a bow just from Jute string twisted into a figure of eight and a Beige gorgeous zipper rose sitting on top. I hope you managed to get yours as it was a huge pack.

Here is card number two.

 You can just see the shine on the top of this card but when it is in front of you the whole of the frame is covered in adhesive sheet and very fine glitter so the sparkle is just beautiful. The frame was actually the waste from cutting the larger Couture die from the show again using the gorgeous Sew Jo pad again. I also cut several of the die cuts from the little Mannequin die also couture creations. I stamped my lovely set of scissors and fussy cut them out by hand. i filled a little of the vials with dolls house doll buttons and stuck it to the inside of the frame also.

 Here is a close up of those Creative expressions scissor s and how easy they are to cut out by hand.
Oh and you can just catch a bit more of the tiny sparkles on the frame too.

 On the show I also had the Crochet ribbon which I just love so I thought I would make a couple of flowers and today I am showing a couple of them too. Here is the white one with its little frayed burlap and button centre,

And the black one with a tiny baby's breath flower and 5 tiny 10 mm rose buds and lots of seam binding and ribbon to dangle below.

More of these tomorrow as I still have a few bits to photo from the show.

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Hi Everyone

I hope everyone is having a good week, I am having a very busy one and only have enough time left to blog this and tomorrows posts a head of time before a couple of hours sleep then I am off to visit Creative Expressions. I am looking forward to seeing my friend Tracey and helping her prepare for workshops at Kettering.
Today's card is from this months launch called The once upon a time collection and I love it, it is very me with all the clocks and flowers and the colours are divine.

What do you think
I stamped my image and coloured it in with Adirondack inks and distress inks of course haha. I covered the image with a double sided sheet and micro beaded it then wrapped some of my dusky pink ribbon with a fine gold edge to it around the card which I added onto a piece of the gorgeous paper with the clock image already on, I mounted that onto some plum card and then cream card which I pierced and added onto foam and onto another piece of cream.
I looked in my stash for clock hands and a metal sparkly frame I could put my sentiment in and I was lucky.
I added a bow on top of the ribbon and a hand made flower using the Majestic blooms collection die and stamps too, I also made up 4 of the tiny flower and placed them on top of the image I stamped as that already had flowers on the image so I built them up and used a few leaves from the classic leaves collection too which I snipped apart to use a little here and there. Lastly as always a little bling in the corners and the flower centres and hey presto.

 You can just about see the Iridescence of the micro beads on the image sparkling a little here.

 Another of my flower, bow, twirl combos , I do love making things look pretty like this.

 A little closer on the edges and the image, isn't it a stunner.

Ahh, now you can see the little beads sparkling.

 A full view as it lays on my desk, I still love plum just as much.

 This shows that the flowers are raised and I have added bling to the centres of all the flowers raised or flat  for a change.

Last one. Keeping your pierced edge straight and your matting crisp and straight gives a professional finish to the plainest of cards and makes all the difference when people look at it up close.

I am sorry it has been a little manic these last couple of weeks with winding up things for the Operation Monday and trying to keep to schedule for the companies I design for it certainly has been a bit manic but I will be home the day after my op ( I hope) and with be recuperating and we can all catch up every day and I am looking forward to creating lots of goodies too.

Craftwork Cards DT day

Hi all my lovely crafters.

It is my turn to post to Craftwork cards blog today and I have created a card and box using flowers hand cut and rolled just to show it is possible without a Die cutting machine ( I definitely would not be without mine but it is possible if you are on a budget).

I have used Craftwork Cards Bohemian Collection still available to Purchase or you can now download and print until your hearts content too. How modern haha.

 I would like to be great at photography so I can really show case the sparkle in the paper and how pretty it all is but I am afraid my late hubby was the man for that job. I just Create Art .

 This is a Anna Griffin butterfly already layered all I did was to glitter and bling him up. Pimped up my butterfly should I say  haha (probably not but I did ).

 The bow is from the new paper die-cut bow pads that are doing amazingly well, I added lots of rows of Chantilly Olive candi to the top.

Of course the inside needs to match as its important for a stunning card to have a fabby inside too.

I also made a box so here it is.

 Hand cut flowers some from unglittered paper some with glitter. I chose a vintage style lace for the bow and pearl rows for around the edge of the box instead of ribbon.

 Crushed up turned Candi with small bling stones inside add a little interest around the flowers.

And all the strung pearls too.

Mini books !

Hi all well today I have a mini book fest for you all...

I Have 2 mini books very different in appearance but both as lovely I think. Hope you enjoy them.
So how are you enjoying the weather here in old blighty? well would you believe it could even be these temperatures after so many rubbish summers ? Today in places were 34 and in my office it was up to 35 at one point... tooo hot I cry, then almost immediately I get an instantaneous spasm of what can only be called.... GUILT.

           So this is using the fabulous Time flies collection from Craftwork cards.

This is all about butterflies and clocks , cogs , beautiful text etc. A stunning quality collection

Next I have 

Heartfelt Creations

As you can see, a totally different book made from stunning Heartfelt Creations Burst of spendor collection.

I love the romance of this  but which do you prefer?

So what have you all been crafting this week?

 Next month is rumbling ever closer and there are 2 shows  I like to go to, one is Stamperama at Stevenage and the other is the Big stamp and Scrapbook show at Alexandra Palace , I get to see thousands of goodies, all my lovely team mates and get out and about in the crafty world and this makes me very happy haha, so If you are in the UK and can pop down please do.

Sun Kissed fleur.

Hi lovely crafters.

Well haven't we been lucky with the sunshine this week here in England, gosh you could have been fooled into thinking we do actually get a summer lol....
well spring ... well warm day or two. hmmm 

Anyway did everyone had a fab bank holiday then ?

I am settling into a new job after leaving the one I was in for 12 years and I am doing fine. I certainly have a lot more crafty time and no longer working on my Saturdays which is aways going to be a good thing.
This week I shared with you my fabulous news regarding The Heartfelt Creations DT so today was the launch of their newest collection called Sun kissed Fleur and I was lucky enough to receive the entire pack last week so today I would like to link and share with you the first card I made for them.

This collection was so easy to work with and the flowers all cut out from one die , so you can make 10 flowers in one pass through the machine, plus you can stamp all 10 before you cut them out so the possibilities are endless.

Lots of distressing and just look at the papers. 

Emma Lou has put some really inspiring videos on to The Heartfelt blog and

Heartfelt Creations entry.

Dear lovely Bloggers from the lovely blogland...

Sometimes I really wonder if at 43 I am like this, what just what will I be like in 10,20,30 years time haha probably a whole lot inkier and wrinklier I'd say lol...

Anywho, You all know I entered the Design Team call for Heartfelt Creations in the US well I thought I would post my creations today and let you all see what I have been making while quiet this last couple weeks, of course I had all my own DT commitments to make up and I had a lovely package arrive from Stamp addicts and it seems I made it to the semi's for their DT too so have some making to do this week.

The first  Item I made was a card. 

 Below is the inside of my card.

I do have all the instructions how I put these projects together but for today I thought I'd just show what I made, if anyone would like the instructions please just say and I will do another blog post with all the instructions included.

Next item... Think secret Garden.

 Even inside There is flowers and a heart, bling and all matching.

 This really shows the stunning paper , what you can't see is the gold guilding on the edges and the 3 layers of ribbon around the body of the box, it has metal embellie's too.

and lastly Heartfelt creations sent me a want to scrap album to decorate which took a while, with lots of pages so here it is...

I have used all sorts for this one, Air dry clay made the words and heart here with added gold gilt once dry.

Next there is room for some photo's , note the lovely cracks... 

Here with have some inspirational sayings on show and in small envelopes for interest plus of course more photo room. Coloured here with Sakura pens.

I am so in love with these papers, and all the dies and stamps match everything so beautifully. 

My last additions to this was some ribbons to help pretty up the rings holding it together and a charm that I made from my beady stash.

The little hand on the chain actually says hand made too which is nice. and it has little bells. The ribbons match well too.

Anyway guys I didn't realise there was lots of voting going on over on the Heartfelt blog or I would have said earlier especially as there was a prize but it has actually closed now and my entry has all been sent and the digital pics have been received so Please keep your fingers crossed for me and hope I get in.. I find out on May 1st so of course I will let you all know..  I would love to see what you think of my entry so feel free to leave me a comment and let me know. I really do read everything written here for me.

This weekend of course saw the Brrrilliant Alexandra Palace stamping and scrapbooking show that I first went to six months ago and what fun it was,  on Saturday I went and had company with my son and his young lady who is rapidly becoming a crafter.
It seems, the addiction is definitely a catching hobby haha.. then I went back again Sunday alone for a wander round and ended up on The Craftwork cards stand having a lovely chat with the gorgeous and special Julie Hickey (best hugs ever) and equally lovely Sue Taylor, Plotting the next things for you all to feast your eyes upon.
I ended up  giving an impromptu drawing session to show that 'YES' I can draw yay' haha I absolutely love it and still haven't given up on the dream of producing my own stamps one day.
Anyway this post has turned int  a mahusssive one so don't forget guys I need all that luck for the DT calls.
