Craftwork Cards DT day

Hi all my lovely crafters.

It is my turn to post to Craftwork cards blog today and I have created a card and box using flowers hand cut and rolled just to show it is possible without a Die cutting machine ( I definitely would not be without mine but it is possible if you are on a budget).

I have used Craftwork Cards Bohemian Collection still available to Purchase or you can now download and print until your hearts content too. How modern haha.
I would like to be great at photography so I can really show case the sparkle in the paper and how pretty it all is but I am afraid my late hubby was the man for that job. I just Create Art .
This is a Anna Griffin butterfly already layered all I did was to glitter and bling him up. Pimped up my butterfly should I say  haha (probably not but I did ).
The bow is from the new paper die-cut bow pads that are doing amazingly well, I added lots of rows of Chantilly Olive candi to the top.

Of course the inside needs to match as its important for a stunning card to have a fabby inside too.

I also made a box so here it is.

Hand cut flowers some from unglittered paper some with glitter. I chose a vintage style lace for the bow and pearl rows for around the edge of the box instead of ribbon.
Crushed up turned Candi with small bling stones inside add a little interest around the flowers.
You can see that gorgeous glittered paper here.
And all the strung pearls too.

So I hope you are enjoying the blog today. I will be posting more frequently from now on so My day for Heartfelt Creations to coinside with their blog is Wednesday. For Craftwork Cards It is today and the 26th August and for my new team Visible Image I will be posting for them every Sunday. I also will be adding more projects to go forward to Making cards magazine so come on back and look around and be sure to leave me a comment as I always answer and is always exciting to see what other crafter's think too.
Lastly I want to say a huge welcome to my new folks joining the blog and to remind everyone that when I hit my first 100 followers I will do a little competition so I look forward to getting there.

Have a great Monday
Love

Making Cards. Blooms in Abundance/Heartfelt Creations Competition time.

Hello to all the lovely blogland folks.

Well as you all can see by the front cover tucked neatly over there  (can you see where I am pointing) no? over on the right hand side and below ( I look like a traffic controller) you can see the front cover to Making cards magazine promo for the August edition 2013.

It took all my will power not to  buy all the 4 copies WH Smith had to offer and in the end I still bought two, one to show and one to keep shiny and new.

When I was told by the lovely Joanne Garwell from Making Cards that My cards may be able to feature in Making Cards I was so extremely happy and have been excited to see it for a while now but never in a million dreams did I think I would get the front cover. Ecstatic isn't the word for it my friends, I am extremely happy.

As most of you no I am hoping and working hard for a career in this industry as I am very passionate about it, so I'd like to encourage you to have a look at the cover or if you live near somewhere you can see a copy with the 2 page feature please do have a look then pop back here and leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
Of course you will also see lots of cards made by my friends and also there are several competitions and different offers in the publication along with gorgeous free quality papers in the middle to pull out.

Here is the box open so you can see the lacework more clearly.

And of course a close up of the Dahlia here on the box corner to show how I cut into the flower with a craft knife and pushed up the petal from behind to give it a more raised appearance, just like a flower growing in nature would, more natural I believe.

Ok guys I have more tomorrow
encourage your friends to come by and join if possible and
please leave any comments below, I love to hear from you all.

Craftwork Sunday.

Hi Eveyone in blogland.

I realise its been a while since my last blog ... ooo am I  confessing my sins lol    oh well ha ha maybe here a while... well it has been an event full month as you may know I started a new job and now I am on my 5th week , had first pay day and am doing well.

I also had a small Operation on my silly ligament and had lots of steroid pumped into it so I am hoping that will make it feel a bit better for walking on it. Not as yet convinced as had several before.

I have had a shuffle about with my design teams and I am now no longer designing for  Die'sire with Crafter's companion  and will miss the girls immensely but will keep in touch with them of course. I am half way through my time with Memorymaze Australia now and have almost completed my first month with Heartfelt Creations US  plus  I will be with Craftwork cards like a limpet on the rocks under the sea haha.. for as long as they will have me. I am of course looking for more things to do if anyone has something coming up. I also hope to have some other news very soon  so for today I will how the cards I made for   Craftwork Cards this month

The stunning new Tea Dance Collection.

A view inside this Tent card to show how pretty is finishes a card to decorate the inside to match.

This is a good shot cos you can pick up the Micro beads used over the Paper from the Tea Dance pad.
I love this so much i think I may micro bead anything that stands still or cover it in UTEE from my melt pot both techniques I am currently rocking to death lol..

Next..

I used their gorgeous new frames with some of the Tea Dance paper here and lots of Candi crushed in the flower too.
And lastly ..
They have some special goody boxes and I was lucky enough to receive all three and this one had mannequins in it so here was my little pink vintage version, just look at the little shoes...

Lots of glitter sparkle lacquer on this... I made the little cotton reel
with 2 pieces of Candi and some seem binding in a role with the cord wrapped
around, cool hey...
Anyway tomorrow will have a new post and I will show what I have been doing for Heartfelt Creations so far..

What have you al been up to this Bank holiday weekend so far?

love always

Birdhouses and Santa.

Hi All.
So sorry haven't been blogging so much, I have had so many orders to get done that I have gotten a little slow with it, but I really miss coming on a seeing your comments so here I am, I am still making a few items to give to Craftwork card for Christmas and tonight I thought Id use one of their lovely bird house blanks to make up so here it is then I got a flash of inspiration an thought Id turn it into a box haha, so here it is... hope you like it, let me know.

So for this card/box I took my birdbox card and snipped it in half to start and covered both halves in corresponding papers from of course the brilliant Craftwork cards, the lovely Julie Hickey had sent me a big bag of bits to make some Christmas goodies and so I have been making them up but have also had some commissions for artwork to get done, I have been working on a line drawing in pencil of an MG motor vehicle for a guy I work with. And yet another lady is pregnant so another crochet blanket is in the offering.
Anyway back to the card...
  • After covering each half , I took some very sturdy black card and used my Crafters companian ultimate pro to make a box up that is smaller than the card but still large enough for either a bag of goodies or to put in a false bottom and have some birdies pop up as you open it like a suprise box, something like that, may have even a little faux nest but then I would associate that with Easter more than Christmas .
  • I seem to be waffling tonight maybe it is because its 12.38 and I should I suppose be attempting sleep as Its work tomorrow, really wish My job was in the craft industry, I'm working hard on that but it is very hard to get into. I would love to bring out my own stamp range so who knows maybe one day I will get that chance.
  • I also covered the black box I made just on the outside with again the matching papers, amazing quality they are too.
  • I then attached the front and back to the box and made sure all the adhesives were covered.I added some American seem binding as ribbon around the outside of box and also all over what would be the eves of the house near the roof. Making also a sort of bow on the top inside the roof area by making up 3 loops in varying sizes gluing them in place and adding a small piece of binding around it to look like a triple bow.Finishing it with some candi here and also along the eves again inside and out.
  • Next i die cut the circle from Spellbinders splendid circles for around the window, I was going to cut it out and leave acetate in the aperture but last min I thought I'd use it for the sentiment but I may make another and do that so you can look into the box.
  • I cut out lots of leaves with my Grand calibur too and and the pack of flowers that came with the birdhouses I rolled them and embossed them a little to make them rounder , then rolled them or curled them up, one I made up into like a rose by gradually sticking down each set of petals one at a time. It doesn't show on the picture as I took these photos just before I decided to make 3 tiny flowers with the Donna Salazar bitty blossoms dies from spellbinders (amazing).
  • I made sure my box opened and closed and added some finger holes to make it easy. Glued all my flowers with Pinflair and there we have it, I am still in 2 minds regarding the sweetie or little birdy things popping out but anyway the main thing is done.
I hope that you get chance to come on and have alook If so leave me a comment I don't bite.
Have a great Monday and   hopefully I will get chance to pop on and added the other card I made today.
Love to all
K xx
