Refreshingly Monday.

Hi Blogglies

Hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine . Happy Monday morning and today sees my day to post for Craftwork cards on their blog  so please if you have time pop on over and leave me a little comment as it is always appreciated as you know.

I have to say another huge thank you to you all for leaving me such amazing comments here on my little blog it is always a pleasure to read them all and to answer and interact with everyone of you so huge thank you to all for that.

I also want to say a very special thank you to a lovely lady I have had the pleasure to get to know through my blog etc and emails and this week she send me a wonderful gift that she had made for me which was a beautiful bracelet, Thank you Carol Clarke I will treasure this gift forever and I love it so much. It is precious as are you to me. I am really not used to receiving gifts like this but I must say what a wonderful feeling it was to open. I also loved the little notebook which is in full use already next to my laptop collecting any websites where we can get a little bargain and of course I will share them with you  all as I find them. Bless you Carol my lovely.

Ok back to the  two items I made for Craftwork for today which were a heart wall hanging and a little card. They are all featuring the Refreshers paper and bows and a tag from the base tag pad.

Here is my 6x6 card which of course is on gorgeous smooth Craftwork Cards Base card in scallops. They come prepack in 50's which is so handy and are a perfect weight too.Nice and sturdy lol (like me) well when my leg is not like this lol...

Here is the inside of the card , as we make full cards for Craftwork cards and I love to decorate the inside to match, the sentiment tag comes on sheets of several different sentiments which are so very handy and on a 300gsm pearlised white card with either gold, black  or silver writing.

Here is one of the die cut blooms in the paper pad so you do not have to have a die cutting machine when you purchase any of the paper pads from Craftwork cards. I have doubled up the amount in this flower for a nice thick full bloom, sitting on top of one of the tags which I distressed with scissors and added some Spun sugar distress ink for a really pretty summery feel.

Next is the matching little heart wall hanging in the same refreshers paper and this time I used a rose which I popped out and shaped them made up the layers and then shaped al the tiny flowers and added a glass pearl to match from my stash.

This close up shows the border I used on an angle, and a little paper bow from the matching bow pad and of course another sentiment which I cut a little fork at the end to look like ribbon. I also made a hanger from seam binding cut in half to fray and bead trim and a thin pink ribbon , I also backed the heart which measures 6inch wide by 5 tall with a ribbon I had in my stash that had a gorgeous trim to it so I cut it in half and created a ruffle and added it all around, I added another heart to the back of all this to keep it nice and clean and neat on the back too.

Here is a close up on the side so You can see all the elements ... Now hands up who thinks these colours are like refreshers and who thinks they remind them of sugared almonds lol?

As always leave your comments below and come back to read my reply as I always try to get back to you if I can and I love to read every single comment which I appreciate immensely as you all know.
I think you are all fab and I look forward to being with you more as the year goes on.

Huge crafty hugs to you all

love

Monday Morning on the Harbour Boulevard

Good Morning to all my lovely friends

Have you all had a fab sunny weekend? I hope so.  Doesn't it make you feel so much brighter when the sun has his hat on.

As you all know I haven't done and awful amount of crafting recently due to the op and last month I missed my Craftwork cards posting so I have made two little projects this month using their lovely Harbour Boulevard collection of papers, I didn't have any of the matching flowers etc so I used a punch and punched out lots of 6 petal flowers and inked the edges of them all and made lots of roses and rose buds and of course out come the hessian again, you all know how much I love it now haha.

Here is the box I made first.

The box is 5 and half square.

Close up of the tags and my flowers , although you can't see all the sparkly glitter all over them here.
Of course this is the inside. Could you all do me a huge favour and pop over to the Craftwork cards blog and leave me some love on my post there too as I haven't been on for a while I might have been forgotten ( thank you so much) Here is the link. Craftwork Cards blog.

I  also made a little 5X7 card , I am really liking that size at the moment.

My camera washed out the gorgeous blue here a bit but I took quite a few and you get my drift with it anyway. haha The little tag says "destination".

I laid it down here so you can see some of the detail, like the right hand beach house that I raised up on foam, although again it didn't pick up the glitter along under all the beach huts.

This is the inside , For Craftwork cards I make full cards so I got to decorate the inside of this one lol.

Here's a money morning question, who buys stick pins to use in bows or on projects or who makes their own? do you like them etc , I have been busy making some and wondered who else does? and whether anyone would like to see them in giveaways? Just one of those thoughts.

Anyway don't forget to pop over to Craftwork and leave me a comment too if you have time and I will see you all very soon.

Big crafty hugs to all you lovely ladies

Craftwork cards Valentine wreath.

Morning everyone.

Today is my day to post for Craftwork cards and They have their own blog so I have a post up today with lots of pictures for this wreath I made. Here is the link if you would like to have a look over there.
I decided to use the gorgeous paper from the Paper floristry kit launched on Create and Craft with our lovely Julie Hickey a while ago now as it is just so pretty and I made lots of flowers to create my wreath with for a Valentine day theme as it is coming soon.

I really enjoyed making all the rolled flowers , I prepped the wreath with gesso and a light pink wash of acrylic paint once the gesso had dried.

A close up of the Snippy flower which is so easy to make, Have you tried these yet?

These pictures show how I have followed the curves on the wreath with the flowers too.
Another close view
I just cannot believe how quick this year is going already and that Valentines day is already just around the corner so this wreath is my little tribute to it. What do you think?

n

This was taken before I decided to add my little tassel but the colours look
As usually guys please leave me your comments and let me know what you think of today's project and I will see you all really soon.

Tea Dance Pink or Blue?

Hi Guys

Today is my turn to blog for the lovely Craftwork cards and I chose the Tea Dance collection to make a matching pair of cards, I hope you like them.

I was routing through the papers in the pack and saw these two the same in Pink and Aqua so I decided I'd have a go at it and hopefully you will like it , they are very pretty and not at all grungy for me but still I loved doing them and they were simple to do.
  • Firstly I chose my paper and which frame I would use.
  • Then I Inked the frame lightly to pick out the pattern and help to tie it in with the project.
  • I then added the frame with foam to raise it up a little off the base.
  • The next mat I chose , I cut out then pierced all around the edge before adding it to the Tea
  • The the last layer I choose the dotty one but added the ink again to tie all together
  • All of the above then is added to my 8X8 base card.
  • I added my Craftwork cards sentiment and my flower and leaves.
  • lastly I used a quicky glue pen and sprinkled lots of gorgeous sparkly glitter to the edge of the frame and the flower (this is really hard to see in the photo but the close ups do show it a little).
Its such a shame the glitter doesn't show as much it looks so pretty sparkling away.

While I was Ally Pally yesterday I was chatting to lots of people and the subject of Inky fingers came up , There are so many different products on the market now to try and clean dirty mitts but my favourite item is Grime boss wipes. I was at the stand chatting to them Sunday as I use them for the cooker hood and the window ledges etc so not just ink but I used to have to bleach my fingers at night so you can image how sore they were but now I use these wipes and they are fab but that got me thinking as to what other people use and what better way to ask, can you leave me your comments and let me know please.

OK back to  the pics for today's gorgeous Craftwork Cards
 Inside 'pink'

Inside 'Aqua'
Its lovely to match the inside of the card to your project and in this pad there are so many papers that you don't feel like you have to scrimp and save it .

So here they are in Large format so you can have a good look .
let me know what you think.

Have a wonderful Monday and I will be back for Heartfelt  Creations Wednesday post so please come and join me also if you fancy chatting feel free to add me on Facebook and we can have a good old chin wag bout anything crafty or even not so crafty things haha.

lots of love

I spent most of yesterday driving to the coast for a much needed little break so here I am house sitting for a wonderful lady who I am proud to say is my friend and feeding her kitty and fishes while shes off to Egypt which means I get to spend time with my son who lives here while studying.

I wanted to share some Pics of recent posts etc. So here is Last weeks card I made for Heartfelt Creations.
I just love the colours in this Months Burst of splendor collection and played them up with the matching ribbon and coloured the leafy frame to match. added lace which is always instant prettiness and even the matching dazzler on the bow works in with the theme.

Here is a close up of the Glitter I used on the flower which is a Martha Stewart one fire opal I believe.
Next I want to show you the 3 little projects I made for Craftwork cards , I just love their Time flies collection which is so totally up my street and I wanted a selection of different goodies so here we are.
I made an Easel card a card using their new flower shaped base cards and A small box of mini cards.

Here is the Easel card , you can also see the new bows made from paper from pads of them in the online store here.
You can also see the bows under the butterfly on the flower along with a mat I hand cut and pierced the edges too.

Above is a close up of My Thanks box with 6 small Thank yous in it. I enjoyed making all the projects for Both teams as always and would love to know your thoughts on both.

Time really does fly.. Doesnt it?

Hi everyone.

Wow time really does fly doesn't it.
I cant believe it is July already let alone, last week would have been my 25th wedding anniversary if we hadn't have lost our David 2 years ago in December coming. It's been a sad week for sure although I did get a flying visit from my lovely son ( have to say that, he checks my blog grammar lol ) no seriously  he is lovely and was good to have us all together all be it just the three now.

I digress. So without further ado I want to show you some of the things I have working on for my teams this week.

This was for Heartfelt Creations using their fabulous collection for June which was Gateway to the seasons and deliciously girlie in shades of pink etc.
This is a close up to show you how I snipped into the gate to make it look a bit different, You can compare it to another card coming soon.
Here is The vintage floret die I used to make this rose and then glittered it using a spray varnish and tipping liberal amounts ( oodles and oodles to be precise) all over each flower.

Next I made a frame for Craftwork cards so I thought I would add this to today's post too.
This was made using Craftwork Cards gorgeous Tea Dance collection and I loved the little bows all die cut in the pad for ease of use. This was really fun to make using a doily or 2 and the brilliant Candi as always.
This month Craftwork has launched its amazing Time flies collection which I Have had my sticky mitts on so I will have some pieces up soon.
As always a close up so you can see the lovely paper, And the bow I mentioned , I mean how easy a bow from paper.

Lastly some news.. I had the honour of using Craftwork Cards Sweet pea collection from times past to create a project of cards which is to be published in Making Cards magazine for August. I am so very lucky to be now associated with them and feel honoured to have my work published , If you know me you will know this is another rung on a long ladder as I feel a career in the craft industry would be my ultimate goal. I hope if you in England you will get to see a copy it should be out very soon and it will be for August. Huge thank you to Joanne who liaises and books us for work as she has been extremely patient with her newbie and feel honoured to work with her. Yayyyy.

OK guys, more tomorrow.

Have a great Tuesday

More Cards to show.

Hi all, see I told you I won't neglect you this week.

Close up of the bow and sentiment hanging, also you can see the embossed frame too.
Here you can see the blush mat I used underneath the layer I pierced .
And of course no card is complete with out the inside to match. ( sorry about the shadow, I blame the dodgy photographer) herr hummm me!!
Next I have another project from last weeks Heartfelt Creations blog post using the gorgeous Gateway to The seasons collection which is beyond stunning
Here is is this is The Fall season precut stamp which I coloured with Martha Stewart Pencils and added some glaze here and there , and a little distress ink from Lord Tim for the sky and bottom Grass. You Can see the stunning Gate here open.
A close up of the colouring, I love to work with all different mixed media and this was a first with the pencils.
And a more closed view to show off the Gate cut from the die Made by Spellbinders for Heartfelt Creations of course. I also used the Grand Circles die to cut the card blank to use for the easel card here.
Ok this is all I have for now I am thinking of doing some tutorial posts so If there is anything anyone would like to see even if it is something simple please leave me a comment and ask away.
I may have some news for you soon about a certain lady getting a few cards published very soon so watch this space hehehe.
