Creative Expressions Thursday.

Good Morning all my lovelies.

Thank you so much for all your wishes of get wells and I am now feeling much better, my daughter also had it but is better too yayyyy.

This card sees the start of new projects for February over on the Creative Expressions blog therefore we were all sent some different backgrounds and some items to alter too. I Have the leafy background and the floral background and I must say I really love the way you can repeat the patterns so easily as the stamps are A6 in size and my card is 8x6inches so a fair bit bigger.

Take a look.

I know we all adore this colour combo from the card I did the other day and as we are nearing the corner for our Valentines day run up so I thought why not do another in these gorgeous tones. So I have my usual step by step piccies coming up so here we go.

I started by stamping out the leafy background with perfect medium or versamark whatever embossing ink you prefer. I used True white embossing powder and heat set. As you can just make out for my size background I used the pattern almost twice length ways on red card.I also rounded the top two corners only.

I also stamped my ' You are in my thoughts ' sentiments from the bold sentiments set. This time I used Gold embossing powder and heat set. I ran 2 strips of strong tape along the gap between the leafy white embossing and the gold sentiment embossing and used the red crinkle edge ribbon to ruche along the width of the card.

I ran a piece of Black seam binding on top of the red ribbon and pulled quite tightly in the direction of the ruches so they all sat down in a uniform pattern thus keeping it really neat. I had a very thin piece of card that I had trimmed off the main piece so I decided to glue that down the centre of the seam binding and add a couple of tiny bows tied from very thin satin ribbon and each of those had a black pearl (and I don't mean Jack Sparrow's ship either, lol ) adhered in the centre.

Next I took another red piece of card slightly wider and a fair bit longer than the first piece and used the floral background and embossed using Black embossing powder on just the bottom of the card again repeating the pattern twice.

I took the first piece and matted it onto coconut white and then black card. I added my other red piece onto a pierced edges white mat which was then raised up onto foam when putting together.
I tied another three small black bows and 3 silver Creative expressions ribbon roses had more pearls in the centres.

I cut two black and 1 red outside heart from the Heartfelt Creations Timeless Amour die set made by Spellbinders for them. I adhered the 2 black hearts together lining the red one up on top so the patterns all came together rather than seeing any of the over laps which  I then cut away. I  Used a black heart flat on the card in the centre of the red lace section of the part I just glued and on top of that on foam I used a red heart. I cut also the small centre lattice heart which I had covered in thin glue and dipped into Diamond sparkles glitter for a little bling.

Here you can see that sparkle.

This was the die I used.Timeless Amour.

Here is a close up of my gold sentiment and some of the bows and how the ribbon looks ruched.

This close up of the bottom part with the black embossing. The seam binding and little black bows with black pearls and also the silver ribbon roses. You also can see the different layers and matts and also that pierced edge on Coconut white although the shot has made it look a little like you can only just see it but you can actually see it very clearly.

Here is the finished card 8 x 6 inch.

I hope you like it as much as I do?.

Now those of you that are eagle eyed and have been looking on Creative Expressions facebook page or the blog will have been teased a little with  a picture which I am going to also tease you with haha

Shusssshhh!! Its a big Creative Expressions secret haha What do you think it is ladies?
All I know is I wantssssssssssssssss.....

Now I have posted all the ladies cards who won from last Friday and hopefully they should be with you today or the next day, (Steph I am doing the card samples separately)  However I still haven't heard from Sue Martin our Main prize winner , So of course it isn't fair to keep the prize sitting there forever so I will give it until Saturday at 9.a.m and If I haven't heard I thought we would do a re-comment and choose someone from that days blog post to receive all those gorgeous goodies.

Does that sound fair to you all because that will be more than a complete week then?

Then next week I will be doing some more random card give aways as I promised you.
Back to the drawing then, Yup I have 7 Drawings to get finished off for Heartfelt Creations ready to post off to America so back to the gorgeous black drawing pens.

Are any of you lovely ladies going to Stamperama at Stevenage this Sunday? , I know alot  of you all live much further north but I am going and If you do go and see me please feel free to come and say hello to me.
Have a lovely day lovelies.

Your card is stunning, and very raunchy, the ruching and ribbon reminds me of a garter, and I'm loving the stamping and embossing with the background stamps, also love the thin ribbon and teeny tiny bows, really beautiful.

Male valentine , go for just a word sentiment for the focal image and avoid bows etc do it all with embossing and matting and layering with waxes etc, maybe make it look like an old journal or book ?

  8. Hi Kim and everyone. What a beautiful gift today. Just received my card and its totally stunning thanks love, it will be framed and put on my craft room wall : )
Thursdays are a bad day for me, and I usually have the day alone as Mr Lancashire has a day out to himself, you all probably think - wow how great a craft day all to yourself, but not here Im afraid, cant concentrate when Im feeling so sad, wish I could, as I habe an order to complete, Valentine card to make plus MD and Easter cards to make ready for my next fair as Its inbetween the two days !!
Id love to be going to the show but id spend all day driving ! Anyone going to Manchester to the Hobbycraft show ?
Id love to go there too, but its far to tempting and it will tempt me to spend what Ive not got : ( so I was thinking Kim, errm, how about a couple of those boxes you and Mrs W are teasing us with as a lift up ?!! In fact there seems enough fir each of us in that store room ! : )
You are SO lucky to be able to play with all these new goodies, its my life long dream.
Glad you are so much better now, remember my 'lecture' !! ??
    Hugs all round.

  10. What a gorgeously opulent card Kim, and I love all the elements you have used especially that ribbon ruching and the lovely Timeless Amour dies. The floral background looks fabulous with black and white embossing, and the extra ribbons, pearls and roses finish it off perfectly. So glad you are feeling better now, but sadly cannot get to Stevenage as I live too far away. x

  11. Hello Kim
I received my card this morning safely, it truly is stunning and if I could have chosen that particular one myself from the samples, I'd probably would have!
although it would have been a hard choice, as they are all lovely.
The card ties in very well with my life right now, Thank you x

What is in those boxes? I have no idea ? but if Creative Expressions wanted to re-direct one this way, so I could open one for them, that would be nice, no return to sender though !
Intrigued ? I'm thinking some sort of embellishments, ribbons or buttons, pins ?
but could be glitters/powders ? they look heavy ? all the same size more or less so that makes me think it might not be anything too big or individual as more boxes would be needed for the demand? but I'm no Sherlock Holmes ! and it might just be a part order !
When do we find out ?

Today's card is very, Oh la la! Boudoir or Moulin Rouge, the colours are very fitting for Valentines day too.

Your blog is a pleasure to read.

Glad you are feeling better also xx

Glad to hear that you are feeling better and that you are back in crafty action Kim.
Loving today's card, it's just that little bit risque!!- it reminds me of a garter, with the ruched ribbon and tiny black bows. Maybe it would put a smile on hubby's face for a change on Valentine's day lol.
