Creative Expression's Thursday.

Hello Ladies

Hope your all having a good week so far , can you believe that it is Thursday already, this week has flown by.
I want to thank you all again for coming back each day and leaving your comments all you regular posters and just reiterate how much I appreciate all the effort you put in with coming back day after day. I feel very blessed to have got to know several of you and feel like we are all one big family so what a wonderful feeling that is.
So we have gone into a new month so I have lots of lovely stamps to show you all and Today I used just two of them to create this.

Isn't this  a little bit different.

I used the Wild Holly embossing folder (which looks nothing like Holly if you ask me haha). You can also see the lovely hessian ribbon I used down the side with some crochet vintage ribbon.

I used pre bought flowers on this one with the lovely Creative Expressions Metal leafs.

This stamp image is delightful and it stamped beautifully with Archival and I used distress and Adirondack inks to colour in the image. I also aged the appearance of the card with Antique Linen Distress which I really love.

The stamping in the background is done using the new scented border stamps from Creative Expressions in the singles range.

I ran some flat back pearls along the fringe of the hessian and adhered them of course using cosmic shimmer glue.
These are the inks I chose for the main image and the mustard went into the centre of the flowers

I used the scented border to create the backing panel and used the Antique Linen to make it look a little older.

I also used Periwinkle, Milk and Dark navy Foundations card in this one.
The wax above I used to pick out the Embossing on the first layers and this is your focal stamp from Sue Wilson's new collections.
I enjoyed this one, something a little different and I love the rustic feel to the hessian  yet just two stamps and 1 embossing folder was used here.

I hope you enjoy this one too and I will see you soon with lots more artwork.

I hope that you can see the images as yet again I had problems with blogger and I can't actually see any of the pictures just now.

Love

Kim

  10. This is yet another beautiful card Kim. The two stamps are gorgeous, and I love the colour combination with so many different layers. The fringed hessian and the piece of lace on top is a nice unusual design feature, and I love the Wild Holly EF. Like you I am not sure where the holly has gone, but it is very pretty. The metal leaves with the pretty flowers finish it just perfectly. x

    1. Hi Pat.
Thanks for stopping by and I agree I think the periwinkle card is what starts the spring feel, I love it and it goes beautifully with the creams and linens. I started doing the little spirals years ago and if you want them to be shiney and stiff , you can dipp them in melted utee which looks fab, but even just natural they always look nice. I may demo them and the ribbons and rose next time on air.

  15. Hello Kim. This is a beautiful card, very subtle and elegant. I'm still learning about the different types of inks and what they're best for-it's very confusing, especially when you use different types to do the same job! I guess I'll just have to play a lot and take notes?!
I look at your blog every day but don't comment often-there are only so many ways to tell you how clever you are!!!
    Thank you, Jan

  16. Good evening Kim
Your card today is so totally FAB-U-LOUS!! Your colour palette is very sympathetic to the subject and your colouring as ever, is a perfect 10, love it. Your twine and crochet bow is lovely - it's just a little bit of something different. Unfortunately, most of my cards are for boys/men and I never get to stick a big bow or butterfly on it, he he. Don't work too hard and I look forward to your next post.

    1. Hi Karen
Thank you so much, yes It is true My brother is an amazing wildlife artist and is fantastic with detail in oil paint. I love the blues and linen shades but it doesnt work with all shades but I knew this would, a perfect opposite of warm and cold colours with a hint of cold dropped into the warm to make it blend. Im looking forward t working with colours a bit more in a short while and on my next shows.
      Thanks for being here

    2. After seeing your colours I found a piece of background aperture that I'd printed that I'd mucked up (I'd forgotten to turn paper over in printer & printed on top of an existing pattern!) It was supposed to be blue but the printing over the top had made some of it browny/beige I roughed up the edges and inked around it with Antique Linen & hey presto it looked great! Would never have tried that without yor inspiration

  20. Wow Kim, what a beautiful card (AND YET ANOTHER STAMP TO BE ADDED TO MY WISHLIST!!).
Again, I love the colours you have used - to me VINTAGE spells dark, a bit drab, BUT this card is lovely and light. You are a clever cat, aren't you.
Thank you for sharing, it is most appreciated. Don't know how much I remember in 4 weeks from now but I live in hope that something sinks into my brain without me being conscious of it (well, we can all live in hope, can't we - haha)

    1. Hi Rose
I know what are we like with our wishlists, they never seem to get smaller in the craft world, only ever bigger lol, I currently have a couple of pretty big items on mine and I am having to wait for them to be in stock before I can order them even. Thankyou for your kind words , I dont see vintage as dark at all, although it can be, I just see it as lacy and pretty with muted colours mixed with older fabrics and lots of textures from days gone by.
You can always go back on the blog and find the one you want to work with and have it open in front of you , or once the you tube videos are up you will be able to pause me and craft along, I am still waiting for my tripod at the moment.
Thanks again for your kindness Rose.
