Visible Image Wednesday

Hi folks.

Happy Visible Image Wednesday

I hope you all had some of the nice sunshine we had yesterday, it was good to leave work A in the daylight and B in the sunshine and no rain wow... could it be that Spring is starting to wake up.. Oh I hope so.
Anyway I hope you are all doing well and I have a really different card for you today using a background stamp called Orbital from the new launch which really could be turned into anything or used for anything It could be used for mixed media and journalling also and would look great in white on black or in bright neons as a colour flash too. I used it in conjunction with one of the more recent word stamps with a different edge.
I did lots of layering as usual to enhance the backing to keep it neat and added a couple of little wooden dragonflies colouring with inks to match and some sparkle to catch the light in a couple of the corners and on the body of the dragonflies too.
I love the colour combination of teal and duckegg blue with latte and browns.

I also blended some Vintage photo distress ink over the edges to make it pop from the white and black of the background too.

Heres is the background alone so you can see the mix of colours on the backing with the layers etc before I go in with the sentiment raised up on foam for dimension.

I stamped out my sentiment  from the Express yourself range of sentiment stamps from the Be Happy set and cut it out with a small tonic circle die and inked through the die like a stencil to give it a faint blue tone and cut a mat a little larger in black for it to sit on.

This is a close up of the little sparkle on the dragonfly and how the sentiment is slightly raised from the card. This is slightly flatter without all the frills on this one so it could easily be posted in an average envelope as opposed to my usual embelished style.

Another look at the finished results , I know this saying is sometimes used if someone is upset with another and people say this as a just deserts and they will get theirs type thing but this was never originally mean't this way it was a much more philosophical saying more for a good deed and how folks would be rewarded in richness of life and after life for kindness in this life so then you see with new eyes don't you.

But mostly I just like how the little card flows for such a simple stamp an the possibilities are endless.

Orbital Background.                                      Be happy stamp set.

These are the stamp sets I used and you can see how they all have sooo many uses , the possibillities are so endless here I sometimes look at lots of stamps and get a little lost as there are so many beautiful stamps to choose but if I limit myself to choosing just two or three and working with that I have so many more ideas so sometimes it is worth keeping it really simple.

Have a wonderful Wednesday lovlies and I will see you tomorrow, I had Monday off work so am suddenly realising how I am behind a day so I am now playing catch up this week.

Don't forget to go on over to Visible Image either on facebook if you use it or on their blog to see the whole fabulous teams inspiration too.

Lots of love to all you wonderful ladies
(and maybe couple of gents haha)

crafty hugs

  1. Morning Kim, We have still had rain, rain, snow, and hail, please send us up some sunshine haha.
This card is definitely a change, I can see the 'scribble' stamps in soft pastel colours as a background, and the sentiments are really different in their appearance, I love them.
Enjoy your day, I'm off to help my Daughter put together flat-pack nursery furniture for my youngest Grand-daughter's baby due this month, so my screwdrivers are at the ready hahaha.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  2. Morning Kim

    Hi Kim,
Great card today, I love the colours and the little dragonflies! The stamps are excellent, too - perfect for grunge.
    Hope you are keeping well.
    Hugs, Rose

  4. This really lovely Kim and I love the teals and browns together, probably one of my favourite colour combinations, and I love the way the circles overlap one another and fill the space so prettily. The sentiment looks good as do those beautiful sparkly dragonflies. We have been lucky here in Somerset that the winter has not been bad at all. There has been lovely bright sunshine today, if with a bit of a cool breeze, so let us hope that Spring is just round the corner. x

  5. Evening Kim, well this is certainly something a bit different, very bright, I can see it as something I might use in more muted colours for a background myself, but this version is also great.

  6. Hi Kim, great card, brilliant use of colour, and I love the stamps, could see them being very useful to make funky coloured cards. Have a great day. Bx

  7. Back to my usual late self! I'm enjoying the sunshine too, although it's still too cold for my liking! I do like these stamps and the colours you've used So glad CQC is over as well! Are you going to Ally Pally in April? I'll email you etc

  8. Hi kim love your work on this thank you love always nanna June xxx
